Trap

Lefelob had reached the first floor, unaware of the tide of guards following him.

He found himself inside a corridor, where on the sides there were some doors placed in rows and numbered.

The doors were made of iron and very heavy to move. Surprisingly many doors were open, so he tried to open some.

Inside the first room, there was a bed, desk, mirror, and chair. It looked like a small room for an overnight stay.

He tried to open the next door and it was the same. There was the same furniture identical to the previous room and this also applied to all the rooms he checked.

It was not the only corridor like this: From the main corridor, there were many other similar corridors. That floor looked like a real dormitory.

Throughout the exploration of the first floor, however, Lefelob heard some voices, which were mainly screams.

He did not know where they came from, probably from the top floor.

He stopped to try to hear those screams better.

"Voices...?" he thought, before being interrupted by the sound of many steps coming from behind him.

He turned, sprinting, and held his sword.

They were the guards, who had been warned shortly before about Lefelob's presence.

"Catch him!!" exclaimed one of the guards, probably higher in rank than the others.

Just then, from the stairs, came out Cesar.

The guards were all advanced further from the stairs, allowing Cesar to hide inside a small cave in the wall.

After the captain's order, some guards ran into Lefelob holding their swords.

Lefelob jumped up to try to avoid them, looking for shelter by hanging with his hand on a ledge on the wall

"I command you to get down from there immediately, intruder!!".

Lefelob didn't even answer, he jumped down and started to shoot at random guards.

Many of them were defeated by Lefelob's ability, but there were so many that other guards managed to block him.

He was caught by both arms by three guards, but this was not enough. He struggled and managed to escape, striking two of these guards in the throat.

The commander sent ten more guards, who were very uncoordinated and inept.

"What the hell are you doing?? Attack him and capture him!!" he ordered, seeing the guards remain chilled.

They did not have time to react so Lefelob landed them completely, blocking the commander on the ground.

He pointed the blade at his throat and asked him where the access to the second floor was.

The captain refused to answer and was killed.

After wiping his hands of blood, he continued on the road to find a way up to the second floor.

He found another wall similar to the one on the lower floor, also requiring a password.

"Another password? Shit!!".

He punched the wall in anger and looked around.

There were no other guards to ask for the password, so he decided to explore the floor a little further.

He continued to search, finding other rooms completely identical to the others.

After having traveled through other corridors, he arrived in an empty room. Behind him, there was the corridor with which he had arrived, while in front of him, there was a very narrow and particular inlet.

He had no other options, so he decided to get inside that inlet, which became more and more narrow as it went on.

"But how tight...??" he exclaimed painfully

After turning around a curve, he noticed that there was another room to explore on the other side.

After nearly breaking his hand to get out of that small corridor, he found himself in a small room, almost empty.

There was only one trunk, nothing else.

He was intent on opening it but noticed a strange red line around the handle.

"A trap... " he thought.

He bent down to look at it better.

"What is the point of putting something like that inside a castle??" he asked himself.

He was too curious to know what would happen by pulling the handle up, so he decided to try and call someone inside the castle.

"Is there anyone?? Hey??" he asked, hoping that another person had entered the castle with him.

"But what the hell am I doing... " he whispered, just before a voice answered him.

"Heard you... Where are you??" answered Cesar, who was still hidden inside the creek.

"Ohh... I got an answer... " thought Lefelob.

After a few minutes, Cesar reached the same narrow tunnel.

"Are you in here?".

"Yes, come here... " replied Lefelob, preparing to defend himself as a precaution.

Cesar slipped into that small corridor, trying to push himself on. He felt the walls rubbing against his skin and this caused him a lot of pain.

He managed to get out almost completely, but his hand bent strangely, and it was stuck.

"Ah, it's you... " said Lefelob, after recognizing the face of Cesar.

"Help me out!!" exclaimed Cesar.

Lefelob took Cesar by the hand and pulled him to himself.

After his hand was freed from there, Cesar fell to the ground slamming his back.

"So you followed me into the castle... I thought but didn't think you would do it seriously... " said Lefelob.

"I told you... I didn't want to hurt you, I wanted to enter this castle and I wanted to collaborate with someone... " Cesar answered, rising from the ground.

"Why?? Why did you want to come in here??" asked Lefelob curious.

Cesar, after a few seconds of silence, replied.

"Because... I want to reach the Vèiger... " he said, hoping not to be mocked.

"Vèiger, you say... " he said surprised.

"It's not my fault... I didn't believe it, it was my grandfather who taught me this thing... Please don't laugh at me... ".

"I'm not laughing at you... What surprises me is... How do you know about the existence of the Vèiger??".

The air froze.

"Does it exist??" asked Cesar in shock.

"Yes, it exists... But how do your grandfather know about this place...??".

"I don't know... Boy... Sorry, I don't know your name, haha, my name is Cesar... ".

Lefelob was shocked, but he answered.

"My name is Lefelob... ".

Cesar continued to justify himself.

"I don't know... He always told me the same stories when I was a kid, I thought he was crazy... ".

"Where is your grandfather now?".

"My grandfather... died... ".

"Ahh... " replied Lefelob.

After a few moments of silence, Lefelob resumed speaking.

"How did your grandfather die??".

"I don't know... The last thing he said to me was that he would enter this castle... One of the reasons that led me to come in here is also this... I wanted to understand what happened to him... ".

"This boy seems so naive... Probably his grandfather lied to him, he can't have died like that... Probably the Kormany knew of his knowledge about the Vèiger and killed him... " thought Lefelob to himself.

"Cesar, this isn't the moment to extend... Do you see that trunk?? I don't know what's inside... Go and open it... ".

Cesar naively went to open the trunk and, as he opened the lid, the sound of a wooden board breaking out suddenly resounded in the room.

"There's nothing... " replied Cesar.

"Oh shit!!" exclaimed Lefelob, seeing a gigantic quantity of sand falling from above.

Lefelob took Cesar with him and jumped up a creek inside the wall.

"What a stupid trap... What kind of sense does it make to set such a trap in this castle?" asked Lefelob.

"Oh, my... " exclaimed Cesar, looking at a small crack in the ceiling.

Lefelob jumped to look inside and was shocked.

"That's where the screams came from... " said Lefelob, seeing a huge room full of cages, where inside were locked a lot of people.
