THE WAR BEGINS

Kara's POV

Jason and I rushed to the supermarket, we got all the ingredients needed to prepare the meal the doctor had instructed us to cook.

After we were done at the supermarket, we drove to my house where Chad and I reside. Jason helped me carry all the foodstuffs into the house and I immediately entered the kitchen and started the cooking process.

Jason stood by the door side watching me as I prepared the meal for Jesse and Susan. I was making white rice with meat sauce and a lot of vegetables on the side.

"I'm here to help if you need anything", Jason said as he rested his shoulders on the kitchen door.

"Well I don't remember you being a chef, Jason", I replied jokingly.

"I'm not but I will do anything to ensure our friends are okay", he said to me and let out a deep sigh of tiredness and frustration.

I'm sure he must be tired, in fact all of us were, it's been only two days since we fought that fierce battle against the Gray Werewolves at Pine hill.

We've fought the Gray Werewolves a lot of times since I joined the pack, but this last time was different. It felt like they knew all our moves, our strengths and most importantly our weaknesses.

They knew we were coming and they were very prepared, but I know that isn't what is bothering Jason. He had that look in his eyes, a mixture of anger and confusion.

"You know Chad didn't mean those things he said to you".

"He was just frustrated", I said to him to try and lighten the mood.

"Don't do that Kara", he replied as he turned to look at me.

"Do what? Jason", I ask as I prepare to pack the food into the cooler.

"Defend him, Like you always do", Jason retorts.

"I'm not defending him Jason".

"I know he can be a handful, but I just want all of us to stick together", I reply as Jason collects the cooler from my hand and we start heading downstairs.

"Well it's too late for that Kara, the pack is never going to be the same again", he says to me as he puts the cooler inside the car.

I stop him as he is about to enter the driver's seat of the car and whisper

"Everything is going to be okay".

He nodded his head at me in response to what I just said,

"Let's go now, I'm sure Jesse and Susan would be awake by now", he replied to me as we entered the car and drove to the hospital.

Damian's POV

Daniel and I drove to the address he had found through his dark magic.

"Daniel , C'mon move faster", I said impatiently.

"Dom, I'm moving as fast as I can".

"You don't want us to be pulled over by the cops right?" Daniel asked as he kept on driving.

I was in deep thought, I hope Reuben is still in the building when we get there, even though Daniel said he has taken off the shirt.

All of me wished that he was still at their Jersey headquarters, so I can end this once and for all. I have not been able to sleep since Reuben found out what I am.

I haven't even been able to make progress in finding the Werewolves who killed my mother and also finding that evil bastard that deceived my mum into falling in love with him and then left her to die.

"We're here", Daniel said as he snapped me out of my thoughts.

Daniel circled the block and then parked the car a few buildings away from their headquarters. We were expecting a lot of Grey Werewolves since this was their Jersey headquarters, so we wanted to hit them with the element of surprise.

But as we edged closer and closer, the building seemed to be empty, there was no noise or any other indication that there were people in the building.

"What happened to their pack?" Daniel asks as he turns back to look at me.

"Well we killed about thirty of them that night at Pine hill", I replied as I continued moving towards the building.

"You didn't think of telling me that, Dom".

"We could have parked the car closer to the building instead of walking", Daniel exclaims.

"It's still a good idea, this way they won't know we're coming". I reply to him as we edge closer to the building.

"Who won't know we're coming?"

"There's nobody here, you guys killed all of them".

"Have you ever seen a Werewolf headquarters look this deserted", and just as he said that, we saw a middle aged man with glasses come out of the front building, I could sense he was a Werewolf.

I looked back at Daniel, a look that said, "I told you so".

We began approaching this blonde middle aged man, but he sensed us immediately and started running away.

I quickly pursued after him, but before I could even fully begin to run after him, he suddenly stopped. I stopped in surprise and prepared for an attack but he just stood still, I looked back to talk to Daniel, and that's when I realized what had happened, Daniel had stopped him using magic.

"Not everything has to be about physical strength", he said with a smirk as he walked past me towards our victim.

Daniel compelled him to tell us how many were in the building,

"We are just five, please don't hurt us", He pleaded.

Daniel looked at me and wanted to ask me something, and in that instant, our victim howled and alerted the remaining members of his pack of our arrival.

He turned back swiftly to strike Daniel with his now sharpened claws.

I speedily moved Daniel out of the way and punched a hole through the assailant's heart.

"Not everything can be handled with magic", I turned and said to Daniel as we approached the building.

Daniel picked up the dead body and dragged it into the compound. We were right to attack in the middle of the night, when most humans had fallen asleep. The other Gray Werewolves inside the building had heard their member's howl.

They stepped out of the building and began encircling us. One of them sped past us and locked the gates so we had nowhere to run, if only they knew that we had no intention of running.

"Where is Reuben?" "Nobody has to die tonight, Just tell us where he is". Daniel shouts towards the five Gray Werewolves that were encircling us.

"We're going to give you one last chance", Daniel shouts again, but they didn't listen.

Three of them came rushing toward us, Daniel stopped them right in their tracks as they rushed towards us, they couldn't move and in a second I had ripped out all three of their hearts and now stared down at the remaining two.

"Which one of you is going to tell us where Reuben is?" Daniel asked as we moved closer to them.

One of them tried to attack us while the other ran towards the gate, we caught them both. The first assailant attempted to bite Daniel's neck off but Daniel was able to dodge and snap his neck without even touching him.

I caught the other one and I was about to plunge my hand into his chest when Daniel stopped me.

"We need him for information, Dom", He said as I calmed myself down and pushed the last Gray Werewolf down to the floor.

Daniel bent down to threaten him but he already started talking.

"Reuben isn't here, he went his father to the central headquarters", he said fearfully

"Why?" Daniel asked.

"I can't tell you that, please don't kill me", he pleaded as he moved back towards the wall.

"I won't kill you, but you see that scary guy standing at the back of me".

"You notice how he hasn't transformed into his Werewolf form, but was still able to kill four of your fully transformed Werewolf friends".

"Well I advise you to start talking now, cause unlike me, he will kill you".

I moved closer to him as Daniel responded, I bent low and held him by his collar as he lay on the floor, I stretched my hands back to plunge them through his chest.

"Okay, okay, don't kill me please", he pleaded.

"Then talk", Daniel asked again.

"It finally worked", he replied as he got up from the floor.

"What worked", Daniel asked him as I held him against the wall.

He replied, "the experiment… he paused.

"What experiment", Daniel asked impatiently.

"We've been killing sorcerers and mixing their blood with ours to activate certain abilities, especially teleportation".

"I've told you everything, now please don't kill me".

"Please let me go, I promise I won't tell anyone about you guys".

I roughly let him go, "Is there anyone else in the building?" I asked.

"No, there's no one inside", he replied.

I let him go and started heading inside the building, I was about to enter through the building's front door when I heard the crack of a neck.

I looked back and saw that Daniel had killed him.
