CHAPTER 19

NOAH

"I don't know, Luke. I have not one fucking idea where she is. She has been gone for days! You think I haven't tried to search for her? I have. And I don't know where she is!"

My personal assistant took a deep breath from the other end of the phone.

"Okay. Calm down. There's no need to panic. She'll come back home, you'll see. Stop giving yourself unnecessary stress."

I closed my eyes and rubbed my temples, my entire body rigid with anger. Anger at myself for even being in this mess in the first place, and anger at Ciara for hating me this much without any tangible reason.

If I could, I would not hesitate to call off this entire thing. Did she see me throwing a tantrum? Absolutely not.

But of course she had to. Like the fucking drama queen she was.

With a resigned sigh, I hung up on Luke and plopped down on my bed.

I was restless.

When we first noticed her absence, I had thought it was only a matter of time.
