Chapter 126: Hamilton

My hands are shaking–I’m nervous. At any minute, the woman I love will walk through those doors. Today, I’ll lock her into my life forever as my best friend, my wife, and the mother of my children.

I’m way too hot in this jacket, but I can’t take it off and reveal the surprise beneath until Madison stands beside me. It’s my final statement of love and support for her. She’s my everything, and I plan to show her in every way possible.

My breath catches in my throat as the double doors open. I crane my neck in search of Madison in her gaggle of girls. The doors close quickly behind them, leaving me without a glimpse of her or Liberty. In scanning the room, my eyes lock with my mother’s–she smiles and winks to let me know all is well. It does little to calm my nerves. I need to see Madison; I need to hold her hand.
