Apologize To The Boss

Collins Hotel bustled with the afternoon rush, guests mingling in the lobby while staff darted about attending to their needs. Madeline, the hotel manager known for her strict yet fair demeanor had an edge in her voice that suggested she was on the warpath.

"Lia!" she called out, spotting her pushing a cart filled with supplies down the corridor.

Lia paused, her heart sinking. It wasn't uncommon for Madeline to summon her at the worst possible moments. But she still found herself Swallowing hard, she turned around. "Yes, Madam?"

Madeline approached her with a stormy look, arms crossed tightly over her chest. "You're going to need to go and apologize to Mr. Ryan Now."

Lia's brow furrowed in confusion and frustration. "Apologize? For what?"

Madeline glared, her patience wearing thin. "For talking back to him the previous day. It's unacceptable for a mere cleaner to run your mouth with out getting punished.

Half-ashamed and half-infuriated, Lia held her ground. "I didn't mean to be disrespectful. I just thought—"

"Thought? You need to remember your place here, Lia," Madeline interrupted, her voice a low hiss. "You are a cleaner, not a consultant. This is not the time for opinions. If you value your job here, you will apologize. Now."

And even after apologizing pray that the he spares you

Lia clenched her jaw, her defiance running deep. "Fine. I'll apologize." she replied reluctantly.

She knew she had to keep her job secured,if I get fired that will definitely be the end of me Lia thought.

Madeline nodded, satisfied for a moment. "Good. And perhaps, it will be better for you to think before you speak next time, we won't have this issue again."

As Madeline walked away, Lia's mind raced with indignation. Sure, she'd spoken her mind, but was that really a crime? In her eyes, the hotel had a way of forgetting about its most hard-working employees. Just because she wasn't in a management position didn't mean she didn't have a right to defend herself, the boss was at fault but here I am receiving insults about apologizing.

Lia made her way to Mr. Ryan office. The polished wood of the door loomed before her, and she took a moment to collect her thoughts. Today had been a rough day for her and she had no intention of letting this man walk over her, no matter his position,I don't care what he thinks of himself.

She rapped lightly on the door, and after a muffled response, pushed it open.Ryan was leaning back in his chair, reviewing some documents. He looked up, his expression unreadable.

Ryan raised his brows staring at the figure In his front.

This face looks so familiar Ryan thought as he tried to gather his memories.

Lia swallowed hard, her resolve wavering slightly. "Good afternoon Boss,Lia managed to speak .

And who are you Ryan voice sounded as he stared at her Lia up and down

Ryan studied her, the tension palpable in the air.

Oh damn, Ryan finally remembered as his eyes kept staring at Lia.

This was the fearless cleaner who dared to speak back at me.

I know you must have recognized me immediately,Lia said clenching her fist nervously.

Ryan lips turned into a thin line, and he leaned forward in his seat.

"The filthy cleaner I guess"Right ? Ryan said fixing his eyes on the papers he was holding .

Lia tried to keep her composure,"come on Lia you can do this, just apologized and take your leave nothing more she thought.

What do want, Ryan asked his cold aura emitting clearly

I'm sorry Boss about the previous day,I never meant to talk back rudely.

"you should've realize who was standing before you sooner"he interjected, his tone sharper now. "what should I do with you, you're just a cheap cleaner, I will gain nothing from firing you".

Lia's frustration boiled over. "And that's it, you should have a little glint of respect in you when talking to others,I came to apologize and that's all, what does the upper class always gain from looking down on others.

You called me a mere cleaner when I'm worth more than you in terms of reasoning the only difference is your money.

"What?, This woman is something else,I can see you have no ounce of fear in you Ryan replied, visibly irritated. "I expect my staff to be respectful and professional Madeline will answer to me for bringing in brainless beings as cleaners.

Lia crossed her arms, her spirit unyielding. "Respect is a two-way street, and I don't feel respected too when you treat your workers like trash, remember "Respect is earned not given.

The atmosphere became electric, and for a brief moment, both stared in silence, the tension between them grew stronger. Finally, Mr. Ryan sighed, returning to his documents as though dismissing her entirely.

Ryan found it hard to believe he didn't have any words to say in return, this was actually the first woman who left him stunned, Ryan has never met with any woman who talked back at him so casually without any fear as she did

Realizing her attempt to apologize had spiraled into yet another confrontation, Lia took a deep breath. "I'm not apologizing again cause you don't deserve it,I don't care if you fire me,I hate people who look down on the weak because they're financially buoyant ,so what if you're the boss she said defiantly, turning on her heel and walking back out the door.

Behind her, Ryan sat in silence, his jaw clenched, left wondering if this woman knows who she just ranted at, isn't she afraid for her life Ryan thought staring in shock at her boldness.

Being a cleaner at Collins hotel I won't let some rude punk step on me just because he's the boss Lia thought walking back to finish her job.
