Heart Shattering Into Pieces

Jason sat on a chair with a glass of wine on his hand,he sipped from it slowly.

Suddenly Nicole walked In majestically.

"Hey, honey, how come you're not sleeping yet" walking to him she carefully gave him a massage on his shoulders.

"What about the kids" Jason asked .

Oh,I tucked them to bed already honey.

Something isn't right about that girl Lia, I know my brother so well, he's not the type to fall for any girl of her type.

"I had the same feeling at first honey, but then I realized he won't get married to her if he doesn't love her"Nicole replied.

"No something is definitely wrong,I saw the way he answered questions quickly for her, and it was as if she was finding it hard to even stare into his, two people who are truly in love will never act that way"

Bringing out his phone Jason dialed a number quickly.

"Hello,I have a job for you"

Keep a close eye on my brother, give me a report of what he does at work,at home and there's a woman with him, keep an eye on her too".

"How much is my pay" a man voice sounded over the phone.

"Text me how much you want and I'll send it right away" Jason replied hanging up the call.

Hmm,baby, that was a smart thing to do,we have to keep a good eye on them, and don't forget I'm always here with you to help you in taking over the company.

"Its meant for one person, and you're the one"Nicole continued sitting on his laps.

The drive back to Ryan's home was silent. As Lia stared out the window, her hands clenched tightly in her lap. Ryan hadn't said much since they left his father's house, but the tension between them was so intense.

As they stepped into Ryan's house,

Lia hunged her mouth opened, but no words came out from it, " Oh My God, this is the biggest building I've ever seen, though Ryan house could not be compare to the Collins estate.

Turning to Ryan, Ryan gave her a cold look jolting her from her excitement .

"This is your new home, make yourself comfortable, the maid will take you to your room"Ryan said with a cold expression.

"Ryan", Lia called stopping him from walking as Ryan turned now staring at her.

"About earlier, I'm sor…"

"No need to apologize, it's not your fault you're cheap"Ryan said coldly.

"You really embarrassed me back there," he said sharply, his tone colder than she had ever heard before.

Lia froze, staring into his eyes " It never occurred to me that I'll be asked such questions"

"I'm so tired right now, and I need some rest,I see no reason why I should waste my time on worthless beings"

"Now that's enough Ryan,I never really meant to do that back there, you have no right to look down on me"

"This is what I hate about the poor, they don't seem to know their place, and you're one of them"

"Lia this will be last time this should repeat itself, I'll throw you out, and you'll rot in jail, and as for your father, he might rot in jail with you as well.

Giving Lia a hard glare Ryan,Lia was hopeless.

Lia's breath caught in her throat. She couldn't believe what she just heard.

Ryan words cut deep. Lia's heart felt like it had shattered into a million pieces, but she forced herself to stay composed. She looked at Ryan, her eyes wide with disbelief.

A single tear escaped from her eye, rolling down her cheek before she could stop it. She quickly wiped it away, her face burning with humiliation.

"I didn't think… that's what you thought of me," she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper. She didn't want to cry in front of him, not now, not like this.

Ryan looked at her for a long moment, his face conflicted. He opened his mouth to say something, but no words came. Instead, there was only silence between them, the weight of unspoken emotions hanging in the air.

Lia stepped back, her hands trembling. "If that's really how you feel, Ryan, then think whatever you feel.

Without waiting for a reply, she turned and walked away, leaving Ryan standing alone in the silence of his own home. The tears she had been holding back finally fell freely as she made her way upstairs with the help of the maid who showed her to her room.
