BRUISED EGO

Confused, speechless, and unsure of why he was approaching her, Angel stood unmoving.

He had gotten close to her, when he caught himself, and diverted to the side of his room.

Angel's thumping heart began to subside. Internally, she was a mess.

However, she had to keep her composure externally.

It would be a shame if he could see the weird thoughts running through her mind.

Ares walked back to the tiny desk in his room, and opened one of its drawers.

He picked up the letter, and closed the drawer.

"Here," he said, turning, and walking to her. "For you."

She stretched her hand, and as she grabbed the paper, their hands grazed.

She tried to quickly pull away, but he had other plans.

With the letter still in his hand, he pulled her to him, and she stumbled into his body.

"What are you doing?"

"Read it," he commanded.

"What?" Her eyes widened.
