Chapter 27: Heading to Kame House

When the sun rose the next morning, Goku woke up from his sleep, changed into new clothes, and noticed something odd as he stood up.

Without his tail, Goku's sense of balance was initially off, and he even stumbled and fell a few times while walking.

Goku discovered his missing tail and shouted, "Tail, where's my tail? What happened to it?" After searching for a while, he realized his tail was indeed gone.

As Bulma and the others were wondering how to explain this to Goku, he seemed to accept it and said, "Since it's gone, let it be!"

This left everyone feeling a bit amused and unsure how to react.

John Doe asked Goku, "Goku, where are you going now? Are you heading to Kame House to learn martial arts from Master Roshi?"

Goku nodded and replied, "Yes, now that the Dragon Balls have been collected, and everyone's wishes have been granted, I should go and study martial arts with Grandpa."

Bulma approached and asked, "Are you leaving so soon? Won't you come with us to West City? I don't think you've been to a city before."

Goku shook his head and said, "No, I promised Grandpa that after collecting the Dragon Balls, I'd go and study martial arts with him. So, I'll skip the city for now."

Since Goku had made up his mind, Bulma didn't insist. She took out the Dragon Radar and said to Goku, "Goku, I'm sorry we lost your Four-Star Ball, but the Dragon Balls will become active again in a year. Then, you can use the Dragon Radar to find the Four-Star Ball again."

"Thank you, Bulma!" Goku happily put the Dragon Radar into his bag.

John Doe said to Goku, "Goku, you go to Master Wutian first. I'll send my regards to him. I need to take Bulma back to West City and then pack some clothes before I can go to Master Wutian."

"Huh? Are you also going to study martial arts with Master Roshi?" Goku realized that John Doe was also going to train under Master Roshi.

"Then, we'll meet up with you later at Master Roshi's place," Goku said happily. He put on his bag and jumped onto the Flying Nimbus.

"Agreed!" John Doe replied.

"See you all later, bye!" Goku waved goodbye to everyone from the Flying Nimbus and flew off into the distance.

As they watched Goku fly away on the Flying Nimbus, becoming a tiny black dot in the sky, Bulma said, "John Doe, you could have gone with Goku to Kame House. I have Yamcha with me, and he'll protect me."

Yamcha nodded and said, "Yes, John Doe, with me here, you don't need to worry about Bulma's safety."

"It's okay. I promised Bulma's parents that I'd bring her back safely. Moreover, I'll be studying with Master Roshi for a long time, so I need to take care of some personal matters in West City first," John Doe explained.

Although John Doe's words were sincere, his primary reason for not going to Kame House was to avoid Master Roshi's request for a beautiful girl as a condition for accepting him as a disciple.

It was funny in the manga, but John Doe couldn't bring himself to do it. Instead, he decided to let Goku and Krillin handle it.

After they brought Launch to Master Roshi, he would show up as if he had just arrived.

After discussing their plans, they boarded the plane and flew towards West City.

In less than half a day, the plane landed in Bulma's family's large garden.

At that moment, Bulma's mother was watering flowers in the courtyard when she saw a Capsule Corporation plane land. She wondered if Bulma and John Doe had returned.

Bulma's mother put down the watering can and walked over. Just as the plane door opened, she saw Bulma and several strangers packing their luggage.

One of the men looked similar to John Doe, but he was much more handsome than the slightly plump John Doe she remembered. Bulma's mother hesitated, unsure if she should greet them.

Bulma saw her mother and immediately threw down her bag, running to embrace her. "Mom, I've missed you so much!"

Bulma's mother hugged her daughter back, feeling relieved to see her safe. "I've missed you too, my dear."

However, there's a saying that you see your daughter every day, but a handsome guy is a rare sight. Bulma's mother released her daughter and turned her attention to the two handsome young men accompanying her.

Before Bulma's mother could approach them, her signature laughter filled the air, and she said to Yamcha and John Doe, "Are you Bulma's friends? I never expected her to have such charming and handsome friends."

Seeing Bulma's mother approach, John Doe immediately felt a sense of dread from his past experiences with her. He quickly said, "Auntie, it's me, John Doe. I've safely brought Bulma back, but I have something to attend to, so I'll be leaving. We'll talk later."

After saying goodbye to Bulma, Yamcha, Pu'er, and Oolong, John Doe rushed towards the gate of Bulma's house.

Bulma's mother was surprised to see that John Doe, who had been a bit plump before, had become so handsome. She was about to invite him to stay for lunch but was shocked to see him disappear at the gate in the blink of an eye.

"Oh well, at least there's still this handsome young man here," she thought. Bulma's mother turned her attention to Yamcha.

Yamcha, unaware of Bulma's mother's reputation, smiled and introduced himself.

John Doe, having escaped from Bulma's house, breathed a sigh of relief as he headed home.

He planned to pack some clothes before going to Kame House to study martial arts.

The next day, John Doe returned to Bulma's house to borrow her plane. He threw his luggage into the plane, bid farewell to everyone, and flew towards Kame House, located on an island in the sea.

And so, John Doe was about to embark on his journey to become stronger.
