Chapter 8: Krillin Takes the Upper Hand

After interviewing John Doe, the host turned the microphone to Goku and Krillin and asked, "We just interviewed Mr. John Doe, who said that you three are the top disciples of Master Wu Tian, and you've all advanced to the semi-finals together."

"I've noticed that your achievements go beyond that. You are also the youngest contestants in this tournament. So, on behalf of our audience, I'd like to ask, how old are you two?"

Goku answered first, "I'm 12 years old!" The crowd gasped in surprise at Goku's young age.

Krillin, puzzled, asked, "But you said you were 14 before. How did you become 12 now?"

Goku replied, "I didn't know, but after learning math from Grandpa, I realized that after 11 years old, you become 12, not 14."

Krillin, feeling a bit down, said, "I'm 13, which means I'm a year older than you!"

Goku patted Krillin's bald head and chuckled, "Hehe, but you're still shorter than me!"

Krillin felt a bit embarrassed.

After discussing their ages, the host's attention turned to Goku's tail. He curiously asked, "Mr. Goku, is your tail real?"

Goku nodded and said, "Of course." He then pulled down his pants to show off his tail. Seeing this, John Doe and Krillin moved slightly away, turning their heads as if they hadn't noticed Goku's action, which was quite embarrassing.

Perhaps sensing the inappropriateness of the action, the host quickly asked Goku to pull up his pants after confirming that the tail was real.

At that moment, the ring repairs were completed, and the first semi-final match between Master Roshi and Krillin was about to begin.

Master Roshi, unhappy that the host had interviewed his three disciples but not him, grabbed the microphone and started performing on the ring before the match officially started.

Goku, still excited from the previous interview, joined Master Roshi on the ring, jumping around playfully.

Krillin, however, was nervous. Seeing this, John Doe pulled Krillin aside and said, "Krillin, you need to calm your mind. Cheng Long is indeed strong, but he's not invincible."

"If you go up there with this tension, you'll have no chance of winning. Only by staying calm can you see your opponent's moves and have a chance."

In truth, Krillin didn't have much of a chance, but John Doe was trying to encourage him. Krillin needed someone to boost his confidence.

Krillin knew that among the three disciples, John Doe was the strongest. He trusted John Doe's judgment and felt relieved to hear that he had a slim chance of winning.

Master Roshi, having finished his performance, stood on the ring, waiting for Krillin.

He was surprised to see Krillin's calm demeanor, not expecting his nervous disciple to regain his composure. He thought to himself that his weakest disciple might not be as bad as he imagined.

With the sound of the gong, the first semi-final match officially began.

Krillin didn't know how long he could last, but he knew that to overcome fear, he had to face it. So, Krillin took the initiative and attacked first.

Master Roshi initially had no intention of countering Krillin's attacks. Instead, he dodged and evaded each strike.

Krillin couldn't land a single hit on Master Roshi, who could have easily defeated him, just as he had defeated Yamcha.

However, Krillin was his disciple, and Master Roshi didn't want to crush his martial arts spirit. After dodging Krillin's attacks, he finally blocked one of Krillin's punches.

Krillin was delighted, remembering John Doe's advice. To defeat Cheng Long, the first step was to force him to attack. If Krillin couldn't provoke Cheng Long into attacking, he had no chance of winning.

Seeing Cheng Long finally attack, Krillin became excited, and his attacks became more fluid.

Master Roshi was surprised that his attack had given his disciple such confidence. Although he was pleased, he decided to show Krillin the gap between them.

So, Master Roshi raised his hand and assumed an attacking posture, the first time he had done so on the ring.

Krillin was nervous, closely watching Master Roshi's next move. He remembered John Doe's second piece of advice: to defeat Cheng Long, you must provoke him when he underestimates you.

The most effective way to provoke him is to make him think that you, the weaker opponent, can launch a powerful counterattack.

Master Roshi quickly advanced towards Krillin, raising his hand in a beak-like shape and aiming for Krillin's forehead.

Krillin's eyes flashed with determination. Seeing Master Roshi's opening, he ducked just as Master Roshi was about to hit him, and countered with a punch to Master Roshi's abdomen.

Master Roshi, completely unprepared, couldn't believe that his underestimation had led to a powerful strike from his weakest disciple. Caught off guard, Master Roshi didn't have time to defend himself, and he felt as if his abdomen was being turned inside out.

After a few seconds, Master Roshi regained his composure. Although he was pleased that his disciple hadn't let the prospect of victory cloud his judgment, he was also annoyed that he had carelessly been hit by his weakest disciple.

Master Roshi angrily said, "Hmph, this farce is over." He assumed an attacking posture and rushed towards Krillin at a faster speed.

At that moment, a cute pair of women's underwear was thrown onto the ring. Master Roshi's lecherous nature took over, and he abandoned his attack, rushing towards the underwear.

Krillin, seizing the opportunity, kicked Master Roshi off the ring.

Krillin silently thanked John Doe for his advice. He had heard John Doe's final words in his ear: Cheng Long's biggest weakness, like Master Wu Tian's, was his lecherousness. If you can show him something that attracts him during your attack, he will be at your mercy.

"I won! I won!" Krillin shouted in excitement, seeing that he had kicked Master Roshi off the ring.
