Chapter 12: Farewells

After hearing the host's announcement, Master Roshi triumphantly gestured a thumbs-up to the audience, who cheered for him. Although the match didn't end in a decisive victory, the audience felt that Master Roshi deserved the championship for using the moon-destroying technique.

Krillin and Goku, who had just regained consciousness and was unaware of what had happened, looked on with regret. John Doe, however, didn't mind. He believed that even without his injured arm, he might not have been a match for Master Roshi.

After only eight months of training and development, he hadn't fully unlocked the potential of his Saiyan body.

Thus, the two-day World Martial Arts Tournament came to an end, and Master Roshi received a prize of 500,000 senis.

Bulma had originally intended to treat everyone to a grand meal, as they were all her friends, including Krillin.

However, Master Roshi insisted on treating his disciples, so he made the decision that he would later regret.

In a luxurious restaurant, everyone else ate normally, except for Krillin and Yamcha, who ate slightly more than usual. John Doe and Goku, on the other hand, ate like competitive eaters, devouring bowl after bowl of rice, meat, and fish.

The chef initially prepared the food with enthusiasm, but soon realized that he couldn't keep up with their appetites. Eventually, he simply cooked the food and brought it to the table.

John Doe and Goku consumed enough food for hundreds of people.

Master Roshi, watching his two disciples, nervously patted his pockets, where he kept the 500,000 senis prize money. He worried if it would be enough to cover the meal.

When the bill arrived, it was a long list of items, and Master Roshi flipped to the last page to see the total.

"770,000 senis!" Master Roshi exclaimed.

The waiter politely said, "If you don't believe me, you can calculate it yourself." He pushed a calculator from the service desk towards Master Roshi.

Master Roshi's face turned red, and he couldn't find the words to respond.

Seeing Master Roshi's expression, the waiter's face darkened, and he said sternly, "Are you telling me you don't have the money?"

Master Roshi quickly replied, "I do have money." He took out the 500,000 senis check from his pocket and handed it to the waiter.

The waiter's expression didn't change, and he said, "You still owe 270,000 senis. Will it be cash or card?"

Master Roshi quietly asked, "Can I pay later? I'll pay you as soon as I have the money."

"Pay later? Do you think that's possible?" the waiter's voice rose. He shouted, "Dad, someone's eating without paying!"

"Who dares to eat without paying?" a deep voice boomed from the kitchen. A tall man, over three meters tall, wearing an apron, emerged from the kitchen, holding a sharp kitchen knife.

The waiter pointed at Master Roshi and said, "Dad, it's him!"

"Are you the one who's eating without paying?" the waiter's father glared at the skinny old man, ready to teach him a lesson.

Master Roshi's situation caught the attention of the others, and they witnessed the argument between Master Roshi and the restaurant staff.

After understanding the situation, Bulma paid the remaining bill for Master Roshi.

Master Roshi thanked Bulma but then scolded John Doe and Goku for being gluttons, eating without considering the cost.

John Doe and Goku, feeling guilty, remained silent. John Doe hadn't realized that Master Roshi, despite being an old monster who had lived for a long time, didn't even have a million senis.

He had forgotten that during their eight months of training, Master Roshi had paid for all their food, drink, and supplies. Although they earned money, it wasn't enough, as Master Roshi had added precious medicinal herbs to their food to enhance their bodies.

After the joyful celebration, it was time for farewells. Master Roshi, having taught them all he could, encouraged them to continue their training and explore the world on their own. It was time for them to leave his tutelage.

Goku expressed his intention to continue his training while searching for the four-star Dragon Ball left by his grandfather.

John Doe also planned to return to the West Capital and embark on a new training journey.

Only Krillin remained, and Master Roshi hoped he would express his desire to venture out and train. However, Krillin had other plans.

"I'm still young, and I think I should continue training with Master Wu Tian to break through new boundaries. Plus, I don't have anywhere else to go, so I might as well stay at Kame House and keep Master Wu Tian company to prevent him from being lonely."

Master Roshi was shocked by Krillin's words and almost lashed out at him. He had been planning to return to Launch and enjoy some alone time with her.

But since his disciple had made up his mind, Master Roshi had no choice but to accept Krillin's decision.

Bulma gave Goku her Dragon Radar, hoping he would find his grandfather's four-star Dragon Ball soon.

After bidding farewell to everyone, Goku set off on his adventure, riding the Kinto-un cloud. It had been less than a year since he last used the Dragon Balls.

John Doe accompanied Bulma, Yamcha, Oolong, and Pu'er back to the West Capital.

However, John Doe had forgotten this part of the plot, and Bulma once again lost the flying capsule she was carrying. They found themselves stranded in the desert.

After their car ran out of gas, it took them five days of walking to finally leave the desert. John Doe and Yamcha took turns carrying Bulma, as she wouldn't have been able to walk fifty days, let alone five.

Once they exited the desert, Bulma immediately contacted the nearest Capsule Corporation employee to send a plane capsule, allowing them to return to the West Capital safely.
