Chapter 13: The Gravity Room

On a weekend after returning to the West Capital, John Doe visited Bulma's house.

Bulma's mother warmly welcomed him, as usual, teasing him a bit.

John Doe asked, "Auntie, are Bulma and Dr. Briefs at home?"

"Oh, they're both home. Bulma should be in her room watching TV, and your uncle is probably in the lab," Bulma's mother explained. "Do you know the way? Do you need me to send a robot butler to guide you?"

John Doe thanked her and said, "Thank you, Auntie. I know the way." John Doe was a frequent visitor to Bulma's house and was familiar with the layout.

He knocked on Bulma's room door.

"Come in!" came Bulma's slightly irritated voice.

"Bulma, what's wrong? Where's Yamcha?" John Doe entered the room.

Bulma replied, "Hmph, him? Ever since he came back, he's been obsessed with training in the martial arts arena, trying to surpass you and the others. He doesn't have time for me."

At this point, Bulma and Yamcha's relationship was already strained. Bulma wanted a gentle, understanding, and romantic partner, but Yamcha was like a wild wolf, beyond her control. He was driven by his passion for martial arts.

It wasn't until he realized that no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't catch up with Goku and the others that he gave up on his martial arts pursuit.

Feeling ashamed, he started wandering the flower fields of the West Capital, playing baseball, and eventually, their relationship ended.

John Doe had never been optimistic about their relationship but didn't want to interfere. He believed that matters of the heart should be resolved by the individuals involved.

After venting her frustrations, Bulma asked John Doe, "By the way, what brings you here today?"

John Doe said, "I need your help with two things."

"Two things? Tell me about them. If they don't interest me, I won't help," Bulma said. She knew that John Doe would likely need her help in creating a special machine.

John Doe said, "One of them is something you can definitely handle. The other might require a bit of brainpower from you."

Hearing this, Bulma became curious and asked, "Tell me about them. If they're fun, I'll help."

John Doe explained, "One of them is a Dragon Radar."

"A Dragon Radar? Why? Do you want to make another wish to Shenron?" Bulma asked, puzzled.

"No," John Doe replied. "I have other uses for the Dragon Radar, but please allow me to keep it a secret for now. Just prepare it for me."

"Okay, tell me about the other thing you need help with," Bulma said nonchalantly. She knew that the Dragon Radar was a mature product and didn't require her personal involvement. The household's automated systems could produce one automatically.

John Doe continued, "The other thing is a gravity room."

"A gravity room?" Bulma asked, slightly confused. "A machine that can alter the gravity in a specific area?"

"Yes," John Doe said. "The gravity on Earth is a bit light for me. I want you to create a machine that can increase the gravity in the surrounding environment, allowing me to continue training my body in a high-gravity environment."

"That's a great idea!" Bulma exclaimed. "If I can build a gravity room, Yamcha won't need to train outside. He can continue his training at home."

Hearing Bulma's words, John Doe didn't have the heart to shatter her fantasy. He wanted to tell her that the issue between her and Yamcha wasn't solely about martial arts training.

"Sure, no problem. I'll take on this task. When do you need it?" Bulma asked.

"It's not urgent," John Doe replied. "Just give me the Dragon Radar for now. As for the gravity room, I might need it in four or five months."

About a week later, a brand-new Dragon Radar was in John Doe's hands.

John Doe didn't go out to search for the Dragon Balls, as it would still be over a month before they appeared. He decided to stay in the West Capital to recuperate and prepare his body for the upcoming training journey.

(Do you know why John Doe needs the Dragon Radar?)

Time passed, and John Doe didn't engage in any training. Every day, he went to the outskirts of the West Capital and practiced balancing his body and ki. He also trained his mental fortitude.

Finally, 366 days after his last wish to Shenron, John Doe saw the locations of all seven Dragon Balls on the Dragon Radar.

"The Dragon Balls have finally transformed from stones to Dragon Balls. It's time for my new training journey to begin," John Doe thought. He had already planned his next training regimen.

After more than a month, John Doe returned to Bulma's house and asked for a plane capsule, a small submarine capsule, and several large storage capsules.

(Now, do you know what John Doe is planning to do?)

Although it was strange that John Doe wanted so many large storage capsules, Bulma was currently preoccupied with the challenges of building the gravity room and didn't delve further into John Doe's purpose.

With everything prepared, John Doe bid farewell to Bulma's family and flew towards Kame House in the plane capsule.

It didn't take long for John Doe to reach Kame House, where Krillin was undergoing intense training from Master Roshi, doing 1000 push-ups every day.

John Doe slowly descended in the plane capsule, and Master Roshi, seeing John Doe, curiously asked, "John Doe, why are you here? I thought you would be out adventuring and training."

John Doe respectfully bowed to Master Roshi and said, "Master Wu Tian, I came here today to ask you about the location of Karin Tower."

"Karin Tower?" Master Roshi was surprised. It was well-known that Karin Tower was even more mysterious than the Dragon Balls, and most people didn't know its location.
