Chapter 32: Gravity Chamber Training

Goku sets off first, running forward, while under Master Roshi's lead, Yamcha and Krillin follow behind, running towards Kame House.

However, this method of running is actually quite limited in terms of improving John Doe's current strength. Instead of wasting time running, it would be better to return to West City and have Bulma create a gravity chamber, which would be much more effective for training.

So John Doe tells Bulma, "They are running to train, but you don't need to. Let's fly back to West City. You need to hurry and build the gravity chamber for me."

Bulma asks, "Is your gravity chamber really that effective for training?"

"Of course. Think about it, with a gravity adjustment from 1 to 100 times Earth's gravity, if you can fully adapt to 100 times the gravity, how much stronger will you become? Just in such gravity, my physical attributes and bone density will improve significantly."

"In a martial arts competition, when techniques are about the same, the final comparison is who has greater strength and speed, right?" John Doe says.

Hearing John Doe's words, Bulma mutters to herself, "If that's the case, I should indeed hurry and build the gravity chamber. I'll also make one for Yamcha and the others."

John Doe is speechless but can't stop her, after all, they are friends. Would he be jealous if his friends' strength increased dramatically?

It's a pity for Tien. In the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament three years from now, Tien will likely not be able to decisively defeat Yamcha as he did in the manga.

After saying goodbye to Master Roshi and the others, Bulma drives the airplane, taking John Doe, Oolong, and Launch back to West City.

Back home, Bulma immediately immerses herself in the laboratory, starting the final touches on the gravity adjustment chamber.

However, the first version of the gravity adjustment chamber can't even achieve a 1 to 100 times gravity adjustment. Currently, it can't even do a 1 to 20 times gravity adjustment due to material limitations. It can only temporarily achieve a 1 to 10 times gravity adjustment (1 time gravity is Earth's normal gravity).

However, Bulma has already started testing new materials for the gravity chamber. She should be able to build a 1 to 20 times gravity adjustment chamber in the near future, and then continue testing new materials, gradually upgrading to eventually complete a 1 to 100 times gravity adjustment chamber.

More than a month after returning to West City, the first gravity adjustment chamber is finally set up in Bulma's garden.

John Doe is very excited and tries it out in the gravity adjustment chamber. When the gravity is adjusted to 4 times Earth's gravity, John Doe already feels the pressure, but with a bit of training, he can fully adapt.

John Doe believes that once he fully adapts to 10 times the gravity, his strength will significantly improve.

Currently, without a scouter, John Doe isn't very clear about his exact strength, but he estimates it to be around 300. Goku's current strength is estimated to be around 250.

With this level of strength, defeating Piccolo is no problem, but Piccolo is nothing compared to the true enemy, Frieza. Therefore, John Doe must train to become a Super Saiyan before facing Frieza.

If he can't become a Super Saiyan, he must at least increase his normal combat strength. John Doe isn't very confident about whether he can transform into a Super Saiyan in time.

However, just thinking about it won't help, so John Doe starts his gravity chamber training.

Originally, John Doe planned to take the gravity chamber back to his home for training, but he didn't expect the gravity chamber to consume so much electricity that his small fortune couldn't sustain it for a few days. So, John Doe shamelessly chooses to train at Bulma's house.

4 times gravity

5 times gravity

...

10 times gravity

By the end of the second year, John Doe can already adapt to the 10 times gravity adjustment chamber. Why is his progress so slow compared to Goku, who quickly adapted to 100 times gravity in a short time?

This is because John Doe has not been using the Saiyan characteristic of greatly increasing strength after recovering from near-death injuries. Although this method is fast, it has limited uses. Unless absolutely necessary, it's better not to use this method to increase strength.

John Doe quickly moves in the 10 times gravity environment. Numerous floating attack weapons float in the air, continuously firing lasers at him.

The lasers bounce off various emitters, attacking John Doe, who constantly moves to avoid them.

Finally, when John Doe is drenched in sweat and his strength starts to wane, he fires a ki blast to neutralize all the laser beams, completing his final training.

Turning off the gravity switch, John Doe takes a deep breath and steps out of the gravity adjustment chamber. There is less than a year until the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, so John Doe decides to temporarily stop gravity chamber training and spend some time learning the Flight Technique.

John Doe estimates that his current combat strength is around 1000, but it would be embarrassing if he can't even fly.

Just as John Doe exits the gravity chamber, Bulma happens to come into the yard, preparing to drive the airplane. She sees John Doe and exclaims, "Today is really a miracle. The training fanatic actually isn't continuing his training?!"

John Doe replies, "I can't help it. The gravity chamber you built has a maximum of 10 times gravity, and I have already fully adapted to it. I've been training for two years straight, and the mental pressure is too great. I need a slight break."

"Are you going to Kame House with me? I'm about to go see Yamcha," Bulma suggests.

John Doe thinks for a moment. He can practice the Flight Technique anywhere, so he nods and agrees, "Sure, no problem. It's been over two years since I last saw them. I can check on their training progress."

"By the way, are they using the gravity adjustment chamber you built?" John Doe asks as he climbs into the airplane.

"Yes, they've been using the gravity adjustment chamber I built for the past two years. They all say their strength has improved a lot and that they plan to surprise you and Goku at this year's World Martial Arts Tournament," Bulma says happily, pleased that her invention is helping everyone's training.

"OK, that's good. Let's go." With that, John Doe drives the airplane, taking Bulma to Kame House.
