ATLAS

The stench of blood thickened the air, mixing with the bitter cold. The battlefield stretched endlessly before me, littered with corpses—both human and beast. The snow, once pristine, had turned into a sludge of mud and crimson. The howls of warriors echoed through the valley, drowning out the dying screams of Kaius' men.

I exhaled sharply, my breath fogging up the air as I twisted my sword free from the body of a fallen enemy. The bastard had put up a good fight, but not good enough. My eyes flicked to the ridge, where Viktor's forces clashed with another wave of Kaius' warriors.

Viktor fought like a beast, his hulking wolf form tearing through flesh, his men following suit. He had been leading Balyndor's forces long before I set foot in this province, and though I didn't trust anyone fully, Viktor had earned his place beside me in battle.
