132. The Storm

The next time I woke up, I had arms around me, holding me securely.

"Awake?"

"Yes."

I could hear the wind howling outside.

"The storm…it had already started?"

"Yeah." The arms held me tighter, and I was pulled even closer to his body, my head on his chest. I couldn't hear the storm outside; instead, there was only a strong heartbeat.

"We should go shower, get some food and then hurry to the safe room. The rest of the house is already secured."

"I can shower alone." I quickly interjected. I could perceive my surroundings sharper than before, and I had the feeling of soon being able to see fully. Albeit still unwilling, I knew that I would be of better help if I could see again. It was necessary to get better.

There was a pause, and I heard his heartbeat accelerating.

"Good, how is your eyesight?"
