Chapter 54: Hooked Fingers

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Ivy lay sprawled on the sofa, noticeably shorter than Kate. From this angle, Kate appeared towering, like a giant looming overhead.

Coupled with that gaze, Ivy felt a bit apprehensive.

Kate remained silent for a long while before saying, "It's nothing."

"There must be something," Ivy persisted, undeterred. "Tell me!"

"There's nothing," Kate reaffirmed firmly.

"Alright then." Not wanting to be bothersome, Ivy relented.

"Aren't you cold kneeling on the floor?" Kate asked.

"A little," Ivy admitted.

With that, she rose from the floor and sat beside Kate, leaning her whole body against her. Holding up her phone, she showed it to Kate: "Look, didn't the sister film me beautifully?"

Kate's lips twitched; she pressed them tightly together without speaking.
