Chapter 311: Rest and Preparation

Outside the golden hall, with Hela's declaration, Alan had now become the ruler of Asgard. Hela had gifted the realm to him, and though Alan initially wanted to refuse, he suddenly recalled that Thanos could arrive at any moment.

Given the looming threat, he decided to temporarily use Asgard as a base of operations.

Alan ordered the soldiers to establish their defenses and persuaded Hela to pardon the original Asgardian warriors. Under his guidance, Hela's forces and the Asgardian soldiers would no longer fight against each other; instead, they should unite to face the imminent crisis as allies.

After handling these matters, Alan gathered the Guardians of the Galaxy, Gwen, Wanda, Red Queen, and Hela in the golden hall.

Alan addressed them, "Thanos has already sent his army across the Nine Realms. If we don't fight back, countless lives will be lost. Not only must we defeat him, but we must also rally others to fight alongside us."

The fire of vengeance burned in the eyes of Quill and Drax. Gamora and Nebula leaned against the grand hall's pillars, fully supporting Alan's plan.

Gwen and Wanda gazed at Alan with admiration. Following him from Earth to Asgard, they had faced numerous challenges, but as long as Alan was with them, they had always overcome adversity. Even now, against the formidable Thanos, they felt no fear.

Hela approached Alan, "Is this Titan really that powerful?"

Alan glanced at her. According to Marvel lore, Thanos was undoubtedly one of the most formidable beings. However, in the MCU, his power was somewhat nerfed, and right now, he had no Infinity Stones in his possession.

In comparison, Hela, the goddess of death, reigning over Asgard, might very well be stronger than him.

Alan smirked and said, "He's just a glorified farmer, nothing to worry about."

His remark sparked laughter among the group. Though they didn't entirely understand why he said it, the image of Thanos as a mere farmer seemed hilarious.

Alan then began assigning tasks. Thanos' army was equipped with advanced weaponry and various specialized troops. Among them were a few incredibly powerful individuals. If they launched a full-scale assault on Asgard, defending it would be nearly impossible.

Therefore, Alan proposed two plans:

1. If Thanos only sent his army without coming in person, they would hold their ground and confront them head-on.

2. If Thanos himself arrived and the number of enemies was overwhelming, they would abandon Asgard and relocate to other realms within the Nine Realms.

Upon hearing this, Quill raised a question, "If Thanos himself shows up and we just run, won't he just keep chasing us down? Why bother running at all?"

Alan sighed. In his mind, Quill had always been a typical reckless hero—the same one who impulsively struck Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, leading to disastrous consequences. Though Quill meant well, he often messed things up.

Quill, being from the West, didn't fully grasp the tactical mindset Alan, from the East, was employing.

Alan explained patiently, "We're not running—we're making a strategic retreat. Thanos' army is vast and relentless. Our only option is to unite the Nine Realms and rally everyone together. Only then can we uproot Thanos once and for all!"
