Chapter 316: Telling Angela the Truth

As soon as Alan arrived in the realm of Heven, he was immediately treated as an enemy. He had no way to explain himself, but there was no time for that anyway—every second they lingered here increased their danger.

With no other choice, Alan quickly ordered Gwen and Wanda to return to the spaceship.

Seeing that Alan and his team were trying to leave, Angela charged at them without hesitation. Like Odin's other children, Angela possessed immense strength.

Alan extended his right hand, using his power ring to generate a construct resembling Yondu's Yaka arrow. He controlled the arrow to fight against Angela while, at the same time, Red Queen, who was on the ship, had already opened the hatch. Seizing the opportunity, Alan and the others swiftly boarded, and the spaceship vanished before their eyes.

"After them!"

Angela roared and pursued in the direction where the spaceship had disappeared. Unlike the other inhabitants of this realm, she did not have wings on her back. However, as the strongest angel hunter in Heven, no one had ever dared to question her prowess.

Inside the spaceship, Alan finally let out a sigh of relief. This place really did resemble paradise—beings with wings flying around, looking just like angels. However, a question started nagging at him.

Who was the ruler of Heven?

From Hela's earlier account, he knew that Odin had banished this realm long ago. But based on what he had just witnessed, the angels here seemed well-organized, suggesting that someone was leading them.

"Master, they're catching up…"

Red Queen's voice rang out, making Alan turn back immediately. To his shock, Angela had already landed on their spaceship—carried there by the winged beings.

Bang!

A heavy impact sounded from above. The metal structure of the spaceship dented inward, and Alan instantly realized that Angela had boarded. He quickly instructed Gwen and Wanda to look after Red Queen while he pushed open the hatch and flew outside.

Above the spaceship, Angela stood her ground.

Alan spoke calmly, "We're not here to cause trouble. We came to find you."

"Me?"

Angela's face was filled with confusion. Then, without warning, she raised her sword and lunged at Alan at an incredible speed—so fast that she was nearly invisible to the naked eye. But Alan was no pushover.

He immediately raised his Aurora Shield in defense while simultaneously controlling the Yaka arrow to aim at Angela from behind. At the same time, his Aurora Sword was ready to be drawn at a moment's notice.

Angela saw his stance but did not retreat. As an angel hunter, she had never backed down from a fight.

She slammed into the Aurora Shield, sending both of them flying backward. To Alan's surprise, Angela's body was as tough as Emperor Armor!

Seizing the moment, Alan spoke. "Have you ever wondered… why you're different from everyone else here? Why do they all have wings, but you don't? Have you ever left this place since you were a child?"

Angela froze.

She had asked herself these very questions when she was young, and even now, they still haunted her. She had always wanted to know why she was the only one without wings.

"What do you know?" Angela demanded.

Seeing that she had momentarily stopped attacking, Alan sighed in relief. "Come aboard the ship. I'll explain everything."

Angela eyed him warily, as if suspecting a trap.

Alan continued, "You can doubt me, but if you don't hear me out, you'll never know the truth about why you're different from them."

Alan's words echoed in Angela's mind like a spell she couldn't shake off. Before she realized it, she found herself following him onto the spaceship.
