For many years, the Carrians have lorded over Ciricos. However, their mighty legions have been stretched thin, as they have foes on multiple sides.



Thus, they have hired the Maerkenien, warlike people that were far removed from mainland politics, isolated in an archipelago on the far west of the Great Ocean.



They have made a grave mistake, however. They bankrupted themselves with lavish niceties, leaving none for their hired sellswords. They have appeased them with granting them land charters in the potential-full Isle, a backwater that Carrian pioneers have settled on for a century, though it is infested with the natives of the Isle, unwilling to accept civilization encroaching on their lands.



However, the Maerkenien grow discontent, with no coin from the Carrians, the fuse of war have just been lit, and it is a matter of time before it goes off.
