Equan swerved around the ferocious bite of the beast, as he felt that his death was inevitable in the coming moments.
He had been gifted with the innate ability of flight, by outputting energetic lightning to the maximum degree, he could affect his own gravity to the point of infinite hovering.
However it came at a great cost of his energy reserves of course.
Equan was looking downward at the thrashing beast the size of Phoenix Academy itself below him.
Another bite nearly consumed his body whole, and Equan couldn't help but want to flee back home to his clan.
Then arrows began to penetrate the beast's hide as his soldiers rained down fire from the other side of the river.
'Idiots...'
Equan felt energy pulse through the air around him, as he drew his bow.
'Abstract art: Maximum output strike of lightning...'
As he drew the arrow, lightning began to consume the elven wood of his bow, as static electricity began to burn the very bow itself.
Then without an exhale he shot straight down at the beast from above.
The arrow completely evaporated before it could even leave the string of his bow; however, it had been completely replaced by a powerful radiance of blue energy.
A loud thunderclap echoed through the entire region of Frostfang as the biggest strike of lightning that Equan had ever seen struck the serpent's head.
Energy cackled around the beast, and in all honest just made it twice as angry.
Then Equan knocked another arrow, and dashed toward the beast's eye.
Pulling the string back, he cursed and summoned a point blank lightning strike as he launched the energy right into the eye of the monster.
Equan was sent flying backwards as the lightning blew the beast back and completely out of the river.
But of course, it was no use.
Equan felt dread beginning to consume his being, as he realized what he had to do to even injure the beast.
'Damnit all.'
He questioned why he had ever snuck out to join Task Force Unity on their journey, and remembered the day that Chase and Equan had truly spoken for the first time.
Chase had defended Equan for no reason at all from Jack's strange envy, and yet acted like fighting for someone you don't even know was just some normal act.
Equan felt his veins run hot from the amount of Primis Energy circling his body.
He began to shake violently, as he knocked an arrow, and aimed it directly into the skies above.
With a shaky voice, he screamed.
"TAKE COVER!"
Then with a deep breath, he drew the bow back and launched a single arrow that at the time didn't look like it would do much.
However, little did any spectator know just how much energy he had transferred into that single arrow.
Equan began to fall back down to earth, as he muttered what he could.
"Let lightning rain from the skies above..."
Then energy cackled in the very atmosphere above him.
Without any warning, Equan lost control of his energy as his vision blurred.
Blue lightning then exploded from the single arrow, and began to take its course falling toward the ground at light speed, as hundreds of bolts of lighting, each the size of the serpent rained down in the blink of an eye.
The sound was so terrible that Equan had thought that he would go deaf, and honestly wished he had as the ringing of his ears was nearly instantaneous.
When he landed, he was submerged in frozen water.
Then a hand grabbed him by the collar of his armor.
Pulling him out of the river, a voice boomed with laughter.
"You killed the frost serpent!"
Leander couldn't believe it, setting Equan down on the bed of mud where snow had once blanketed the earth.
"You damn kids and your evolving past human limits..."
Equan couldn't see much, but from what he could see, he had truly decimated the entire region with his attack.
"Stay here, and heal quickly."
He said grimly.
"I have important matters to attend to..."
The headmaster's voice darkened as he began to walk in the direction where they had came from.
Then right before he blacked out, Equan was able to get a glimpse of a stand off between two Paladins...
He had wished he got to see the fight between Rhysara and Leander, but at the same time wished that he was strong enough to take such a burden off of the kind headmaster.
