May The Stars Gaze Upon Thy Actions

Leander took a step forward, reality bending to the will of his twelve star catalyst.

Golden light began to flow through the air, like a work of art painted by perfect unity.

"Rhysara of House Frostfang... Your tyranny ends here."

"Silence fool!"

She screamed, beginning to show her true colors.

"You have shamed by kingdom, and brought that vile beast into my lands..."

"You speak of the boy?"

She growled, drawing her blade of black ice.

"I speak of what lies within that thing..."

"You speak of the heir so irrationally, without giving the thought of who he really is any attention..."

"Lilith tainted him with her dark magic..."

Leander shook his head.

"Girl... You are too young to see that only true darkness may shed light upon this dying world..."

"Do not speak of me as a child!"

"I will speak as I see fit..."

Rhysara took a step forward, as darkened winds began to swirl around her slowly forming plates of armor.

"You wish to fight a first tier paladin?"

"No... I wish to fight the old man that hides under Orion's lineage."

"So be it..."

Then everything stopped, and Rhysara's eyes widened to the utmost degree.

The air shimmered with dust of gold, and even the evening sky itself began to disintegrate underneath the near-god-like power of the descendent of constellations.

Lifting his hair out of the empty socket within his face, he gazed upon his once disciple, feeling a sense of shame and disgust at the being that he had raised from the cold winds of Frostfang.

Lifting his hands into the air, he felt the very fabric of reality unfold within his grasp.

"Eye of dusk..."

"No!"

The golden eye formed for the third time ever in his long life, only this time it got the chance to fully manifest.

Rays of light covered the entire valley, bringing forth the veil of sunset.

The stars of the sky began to move slowly, taking shape as one grand illusion.

Leander had never been sure what sort of Trinity Art he carried inside of his catalyst.

But he knew one final thing...

That he carried a small fraction of The God Killer within his soul...

Rhysara tried to plead but her muffled noises were drowned out by the radiant hum of energy that slowly escaped Leander's energy veins.

...

Two Hundred Years Ago...

Leander sat on the edge of the grand castle within Orion's kingdom.

"Father... Why must we give up our kingdom?"

Orion sat down next to Leander and smiled.

His golden hair flowing with the vast winds of the center of Vallmora, and his eyes shining like the radiant stars that lit up the entire night sky.

He sighed and spoke in his powerfully toned voice.

"Where there is power, there lies evil... And where there is strength, there lies weakness..."

"But what does that mean?"

Leander was angry that his family was selling the kingdom over to the Aries clan, and truly did not understand why it was happening.

Orion gazed upon the vast kingdom below them, and grinned.

"The three great clans have been at war for what feels like centuries... And we aren't even the true enemies..."

"Then who is?"

Orion's smile dimmed, and his eyes showed a strange amount of despair that no child could ever understand.

"The gods... They stand in the highest layer of the heavens... Drinking from their gilded chalices, and governing a world they know nothing of... While we humans slaughter each other over the most trivial of matters, they joke and play with the very laws of nature."

"Is that why we are leaving?"

Orion gave him a sly smirk.

"Of course not... If I feared the gods, they would have destroyed our lands far before I grew to power."

"Then why don't you fight them?"

Orion let out a haughty laugh, as he tried to control the immense energy that escaped his lips.

"If I fought the gods... Humanity would fall right alongside them..."

Leander frowned.

"Why don't you just teach humans how to be strong then?"

Orion's facial expression changed, and his gaze settled upon the grand ebony pillar that's base stood inside of the large lake that rested underneath of the capital of Vallmora.

"Humans cannot learn strength my boy... They must become it on their own."

Leander's frown grew darker.

"That is not fair."

"Life is not fair... Many hunters and soldiers leave at night in order to fight the monsters of The Dark Forest... And yet many never return to their families..."

"But what is the point of leaving in the first place?"

Orion grinned.

"Because in the most rare of cases... Some do return, and although they return different from when they left... They return strong, and carry the will of humanity within their souls."

"Will of humanity?"

Orion nodded.

"It is not strong enough yet... However, one day in the vast future you will see it with your own eyes... You will see the sacred souls of the next generation bear a new light..."

...

Present Day...

Leander outstretched his hand, and as Rhysara launched a whirlwind of dark winter in his direction, Leander outright dispelled her energy before it could ever enter his vicinity.

"You have lost your humanity... Rhy..."

"You will not call me that!"

She hurled her blade at Leander, which to him felt like throwing a snowball at an object thousands of meters away.

Leander simply stepped to the side, avoiding the powerful attack.

Snapping his finger swiftly, the world shook.

Rhysara's body went limp, and a golden aura escaped from the back of her armor, floating in the air with no real purpose.

Of course, the golden aura was her soul, at least the version of it that Leander had snapped out of her body.

Looking at his once favorite student, he sighed.

"Your brother is dead Rhysara..."

"Because your vile creation has killed him!"

"Wrong... You killed him..."

"How?! I tried to protect my brother, and kept him in my castle with his own protection for years!"

"The day that you took Blaze's life, and Chase had escaped into The Dark Forest... Was the day that your brother had truly died... You only pushed him further into his grave by distancing yourself from him..."

"I-"

Leander nodded.

Putting his finger on the forehead of his once pupil, a radiant hum of gold entered into her mind.

"Bare witness..."

...

Eighteen Years Ago...

Leander sat on his cozy chair within the safety of his Phoenix Academy office.

"Headmaster! How do I use the magic trick like you do?"

A young childish girl with silver hair asked, with a bright smile on her face.

Leander held out his hand, and let a gentle golden flame escape his palm, and dance within the lantern-lit office.

"There is no real trick... It is simply to foresee and act on your sights..."

"What does that mean?"

She folded her arms, frowning at the man.

He grinned.

"One day you will see..."

He put his other hand over the flame, letting it form within his grasp.

Suddenly a bird of golden flames flew from his grasp, and flapped its wings gracefully, as it landed on the girl's head.

Her eyes sparkled, as it made a gentle cawing noise.

"This isn't fair... I want to be able to do cool things like that..."

'Little does she know the truths of the thing we call energy...'

"You will... One day..."

He sighed.

"Now go along, your friends are awaiting you in the grand dining hall..."

"Okay papa!"

Once she left, Leander cursed her father for ever putting those two children in his care.
