After teleporting he reappeared under a tree at the Oland Plateau. Before him stretched vast green fields, a gentle breeze flowing through his hair. In the distance, a small town came into view.
"Ralia, The perfect starting town!" Noir beamed.
"Now then, let's begin."
He pulled out the seed he had received earlier. Before he left, Littis had told him that the seed would take a few minutes to kick in.
Which meant he had just enough time to cast his memory magic.
Reaching into his pocket, he held up the seed—but his hand trembled slightly.
"Haha, I guess I'm still scared to truly let go of my power."
Then, he smiled brilliantly.
"WELL, MIGHT AS WELL END IT WITH A BANG!"
Raising his hand to the sky, Noir gathered all his power and teleported far out over the middle of the sea then fired a massive ball of blue light upward. It shot higher and higher, piercing through the clouds until—
"BOOOOM!"
Right as Noir teleported back under the tree, the purple ball exploded into a massive firework, so bright that even in broad daylight it could be seen from all cross the world. Even Noir could see it fade out in the far distance.
"That helped me blow off some steam. Now then…"
Without any further hesitation, Noir popped the seed into his mouth… and swallowed it whole. Upon eating the seed, Noir immediately began casting memory magic on himself. He sifted through his memories, throwing away every piece of knowledge about magic and the world he once knew—even erasing memories of the people he had met. He only left behind the basics: how to walk, talk, and handle everyday life. However, he did give himself a new name—an anagram of his old one. From now on, he would be Rion.
With that, he set two final conditions upon his memories: First, he would only regain them once he reached the end of his journey, no matter how long it took. Second, he would retain just one thing—his burning passion for adventures.
Noir them did two final things. The first was casting a spell on himself altering his appearance. He couldn't have old acquaintances recognizing him, after all. His once long silver hair shortened and darkened to black. His pale skin tanned slightly. His sharp features softened, and his deep blue eyes shifted to a warm hazel. The second was a bit more complicated. He recalled Nittis's words about how he could lift the seed's effects with magic manipulation. So, instead of fully dispelling the curse, he carefully pierced a tiny opening in it, just enough to allow a slow trickle of his magic to return. As he finished, he exhaled deeply.
"Now, when my new self trains, he'll gradually regain my old magic supply. Haha… who knows? Maybe he'll become just as strong as me and get it all back in the end…"
Satisfied with his work Noir sat to the ground resting his back against the tree, A heavy drowsiness overtook him as his memory magic began to take effect.
"You take it from here…" That was the last thing Noir mumbled before he fell into a deep sleep.
…"Ngh."
Noir—now Rion—slowly sat up from the ground, rubbing his eyes.
"W-where am I?" he muttered, brushing dirt off his shirt.
Before him stretched an endless field of green, a town visible in the distance. A gentle breeze swept through the open land.
Rion furrowed his brows. "Hmm… well, this is strange."
"Yet for some reason, I can't help but feel excited. It's almost as if this is the perfect place… to start an adventure!"
Grinning, Rion tightened his grip around the old wand in his hand—something he had instinctively held onto. With newfound determination, he turned toward the village and started walking.
And thus Rion's adventure began….
