Rachel POV

Aderemi's eyes clouded with disappointment, his gaze piercing as he stared at me. The food lay forgotten, his attention fixed on me. I racked my brain, trying to recall what I'd done wrong, but every idea led to a dead end. He glanced at his phone, then back at me, his hurt expression unmistakable. I was baffled - how had I managed to shift his mood so drastically in an instant?

His eyes bore into mine, his voice firm. "What have you done, Rachel?" he repeated, his expression accusatory.
