Shocking the World

Fleet Admiral Kong furrowed his brows tightly, his gaze fixed on Roger. He couldn't fathom what kind of scheme the Pirate King was playing. However, since Roger had delivered himself to their doorstep, there was no way they would let him leave.

"Garp, go and put the shackles on him."

"Why me?"

Vice Admiral Garp grumbled, but under Kong's stern gaze, he could only step forward. Taking a pair of special sea prism stone cuffs from a nearby Marine Commander, he walked toward Roger.

"Are you coming quietly, or do I have to make you?" Garp asked.

Roger chuckled. "We're old friends, after all. I'll trouble you to do it."

As Garp fastened the cuffs onto Roger, every Marine around them remained tense, their bodies wound up like coiled springs. Even Kong, Sengoku, and Zephyr stood ready. If Roger resisted even slightly, they would launch an immediate attack.

But as the cuffs snapped shut, the gathered Marines finally exhaled in relief. Yet, confusion lingered—why had Roger come all this way alone just to surrender? What was he planning?

"Take him to the prison."

Fleet Admiral Kong couldn't discern Roger's motives, but capturing him was an enormous victory. There was no way they would let him escape now.

Roger was escorted into Marineford's high-security prison. Meanwhile, Kong convened an emergency meeting of the Marine High Command. Every Vice Admiral stationed at headquarters was ordered to gather in the conference room immediately.

The meeting lasted for over three hours.

Soon after, the Marines officially announced to the world:

The Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, has been captured and imprisoned.

When this news spread, the entire world was shaken.

For a year, Roger had held the title of Pirate King, a legend that had only grown stronger with time. Though he had remained out of sight, stories of his exploits continued to spread like wildfire. Even children knew of his infamous reputation.

Now, the great Pirate King had been caught.

It was an unbelievable development.

Few knew the truth—that Roger had surrendered voluntarily. The Marines would never disclose this detail. To the world, it was an undisputed victory for the Marines.

The World Government and the Marines celebrated this as a monumental triumph. The common people cheered, relieved that the era's most dangerous pirate had finally been brought to justice.

But in the world of pirates, the reaction was very different.

Many pirates idolized Roger. Even after he disappeared, his legend remained. Now, out of nowhere, the Marines claimed to have captured him—without any warning, without any great battle.

It didn't make sense.

In the New World, the great pirate factions all reacted differently.

For years, three legendary pirates had stood at the top of the seas:

Shiki, the Golden Lion

Roger, the Pirate King

Whitebeard, Edward Newgate

These three were unparalleled, both in personal strength and the might of their crews. Other pirates in the New World were powerful but still lagged behind them.

However, once Roger became the Pirate King, everything changed.

He had surpassed even Whitebeard and Shiki, becoming the most feared and respected pirate alive. The entire world turned its eyes toward him.

Now, the news of Roger's capture sent shockwaves through the seas.

Among them, Shiki, the Golden Lion, was the most furious.

For years, he had regarded Roger as his greatest rival. More than anything, he had wanted Roger to join his fleet and help him conquer the world.

The last time they fought, fate had played a cruel joke, leading to Shiki's unexpected defeat. But he hadn't given up—he was simply waiting for another chance to settle the score.

Even after Roger claimed the title of Pirate King, Shiki hadn't cared. His goal wasn't to be Pirate King—he wanted to be King of the World.

So when he heard the news, Shiki's first reaction was disbelief.

"Impossible. Absolutely impossible!" he roared. "There's no way the Marines captured Roger!"

He had battled the Marines countless times. He knew their strengths and weaknesses. Yes, they had powerful warriors, but to capture Roger? No, not a chance.

His rage boiled over.

"I have to find out the truth," he growled. "Roger, if you really were caught, I won't let you die at the hands of the Marines. If you have to die, it will be by my hands!"

With that, Shiki soared into the sky, using his Devil Fruit powers to fly toward his next move.

Meanwhile, aboard the Moby Dick, the news had also reached Whitebeard.

Unlike Shiki, Whitebeard remained calm. He had sensed something off when Roger disbanded his crew and came to visit him.

"That fool… What kind of game is he playing now?"

It didn't add up. If the Marines had the ability to capture Roger, they would have done so long ago. Why now? And why with no warning?

Whitebeard sat on his massive throne-like chair, deep in thought.

"Well, whatever he's up to… it has nothing to do with me."

Though Roger was his greatest rival, he respected him deeply.

"It's a damn shame," Whitebeard sighed. "That man was one of the few I ever admired."

Then a thought crossed his mind.

"What will the Marines do with him? Will they imprison him? Or execute him?"

Elsewhere in the New World, other legendary pirates reacted with shock.

Kaido, Captain John, and others had all clashed with Roger before. They knew his strength.

"Roger? Captured?" Kaido scoffed. "That bastard? Not a chance."

One pirate, however, was delighted by the news.

Charlotte Linlin, also known as Big Mom.

Unlike others, she hated Roger.

For years, she had blamed him for stealing one of her Road Poneglyphs. She believed that without him, she would have been the first to reach Laugh Tale and claim the One Piece.

And now? He was finally caught.

"Mamama~ma! Serves you right, Roger!" she cackled.

As the world reeled from the news, everyone waited for what would come next.

One thing was certain: the Marines wouldn't stop at just capturing Roger.

The world was holding its breath, eager to see how the Navy would handle the Pirate King himself.
