The Yellow-Green Duo

Despite the efforts of the Marines, Shiki the Golden Lion's ability remained nearly unstoppable. The clash between three top-tier powerhouses was causing immense destruction, with countless massive boulders raining down from above.

Some weaker Marine officers, rather than helping, ended up getting injured by the falling debris.

"If this continues, the entire base will be destroyed by Shiki," someone muttered anxiously.

Even though Sengoku and Garp were teaming up, they couldn't do much to counteract Shiki's fruit ability. As long as he stayed airborne and attacked from a distance, there was little they could do.

Fleet Admiral Kong furrowed his brows. His strength was undeniable, but this wasn't just a matter of power. The constant rain of falling rubble was impossible to block completely.

For a moment, Kong couldn't think of a solution. The Marines had many strong fighters, but very few who could handle this situation effectively.

At that moment, Tsuru suddenly called out.

"Jon!"

Jon had been watching the battle intently. A clash between three of the world's most powerful warriors was a rare sight. Though the fight had yet to reach the point of close-quarters combat, Jon knew that if Shiki was serious about freeing Roger, he'd eventually have to descend. When that happened, a true battle would erupt.

Hearing Tsuru's voice, Jon snapped out of his thoughts and quickly ran over to her.

"Vice Admiral, you called for me?"

Tsuru spoke firmly. "It's time for you to step in. With your ability, you should be able to minimize the damage to the base. Also, see if you can find a way to get Sengoku and Garp up there."

"No problem."

Jon didn't hesitate. He had refrained from acting earlier because many other Marines had already stepped in. But now that Tsuru had given the order, he had no reason to hold back.

"Borsalino!"

Jon shouted toward Kizaru before leaping down from the fortress walls and sprinting toward the battlefield.

Borsalino chuckled. "So, it's our turn now? Well then, let's show them the power of our golden duo."

Jon rolled his eyes. Golden duo? That sounds terrible.

The two advanced at high speed before stopping near the combat zone.

"Borsalino, you don't need to fight. Just shine your light on me."

"No problem. After all, we've done this a few times already. Go ahead and unleash your full power."

Jon took a deep breath, placed both hands on the ground, and activated his ability. Invisible waves of plant energy spread from his palms, rapidly expanding underground. The area covered by his ability grew larger and larger.

"Borsalino, now!"

Borsalino nodded. His body transformed into golden light, radiating a strange heat.

Jon, now bathed in Kizaru's light, felt an incredible surge of energy coursing through him. His body felt stronger, more invigorated.

"Maximum Release—Tree World Birth!"

With a loud clap of his hands, an astonishing green light erupted from Jon's body. Simultaneously, the ground within the Marine base trembled violently as countless tree roots burst forth.

Towering trees shot up from the earth, expanding at an unnatural speed. Within moments, they reached over ten meters in height and continued to grow. In an instant, the entire area was transformed into a massive forest, utterly defying the laws of nature.

On the fortress walls, Kong watched in shock. "Are you sure he can handle this? He's already caused a huge mess before the battle even started."

It was true—Jon's technique had significantly altered the base's landscape.

Tsuru, however, remained calm. "Compared to the destruction Shiki is causing, this is nothing. Trust me, Jon's ability will protect the base."

Before her words had even fully left her mouth, the assembled Marines watched in awe as the giant trees' branches twisted and intertwined, forming an impenetrable network of defenses.

"What is this…?"

The Marines were utterly stunned. The Marine base was now half-submerged in an enormous jungle. More incredibly, the trees were merging together, forming a nearly indestructible web.

But no one was more surprised than Shiki himself.

From his aerial vantage point, Shiki looked down to see that nearly half of Marineford was now hidden beneath the massive trees. Their branches were interwoven so tightly that he couldn't even see what was happening inside.

"The Marines had someone like this?"

As a seasoned warrior, Shiki immediately recognized Jon's abilities as a Devil Fruit power. But he had never heard of any Marine possessing such an ability.

"Let's see if this really works."

Though impressed, Shiki was also annoyed. How dare someone try to block his attacks with a mere forest? He would make them pay for their arrogance.

With a flick of his hand, he released his ability's hold on one of the larger floating islands, sending it plummeting straight toward the jungle below.

The island fell with incredible speed, its sheer mass carrying immense destructive force.

But what happened next shocked even Shiki.

The moment the island crashed into the trees, dozens of them snapped, yet the remaining branches quickly caught hold of the falling debris, preventing it from reaching the ground.

"That brat really pulled it off."

Garp and Sengoku had climbed onto one of the towering trees. Seeing the forest successfully stopping Shiki's attack, even they were amazed. It was certainly a more effective solution than trying to smash every falling rock to bits.

Sengoku's eyes flashed with insight. "Plant fibers are tougher than we give them credit for. Jon's chosen tree species must have incredibly strong branches, trunks, and roots."

Garp scratched his head. "That's great and all, but Shiki's still a pain. If he keeps dodging up there, this is going to be a real pain in the ass."

Just as Garp was getting frustrated, Jon's voice suddenly echoed in their ears.

"Admiral Sengoku, Vice Admiral Garp—don't move. I'm sending you up there."

Before they could react, the tree beneath them suddenly started growing again—at an insane speed. In mere seconds, it had surpassed all the other trees, reaching high into the sky toward Shiki's floating islands.

"Wahahaha! Good job, kid! I'm coming for you, Shiki!"

Garp laughed heartily, excitement clear in his voice.

Sengoku, too, looked pleased. They had been struggling to reach Shiki, but now Jon's ability had provided the perfect solution.

Within just ten seconds, the tree had grown to over a hundred meters tall, allowing Garp and Sengoku to leap onto the nearest floating island.

"That's enough, Borsalino."

Jon wiped the sweat from his forehead. Maintaining such a vast forest and manipulating the trees at this level had drained a significant amount of his energy.

If not for Borsalino continuously providing him with light and heat, he wouldn't have been able to sustain this technique or grow the giant tree to such extreme heights.

With their new vantage point, Garp and Sengoku were finally in position to bring the fight directly to Shiki.
