Drunken Heart

Delphinia let out a sigh, shaking her head fondly as she watched Evander shift on the bed, his brow furrowing as if even in his drunken state, he was vaguely aware of his discomfort.

She grabbed a bottle of water from the nightstand and twisted the cap off. "Evander," she said gently, nudging his shoulder. "You need to drink some water."

He let out a low groan, burying his face deeper into the pillow. "Mmm. No."

Delphinia rolled her eyes. "Yes."

When he didn't move, she reached out and ran her fingers through his hair, massaging his scalp lightly. "Come on, you'll feel worse in the morning if you don't."

Evander grumbled something incoherent but finally turned his head just enough for her to press the bottle to his lips. He took a few slow sips before pulling away with a sigh.

"There. That wasn't so hard, was it?" she teased.

He only hummed in response, his eyelids already drooping again.
