Chapter 164: The Beast Pirates

Chapter 164: The Beast Pirates

Charlotte ignored the reactions of the scientists around him and focused on the laboratory.

The room was lined with numerous breeding chambers, but all the clones inside had been removed.

"Where's Vegapunk?" Charlotte asked, the Seven Star Sword appearing in his hand.

He had learned that asking nicely rarely worked, but the presence of a blade usually encouraged cooperation.

"Uh… Vegapunk was taken away by CP0 about ten minutes ago," one of the scientists stammered nervously. "They ordered us to stay behind and gather the data while they escaped."

Charlotte's eyes narrowed at the news.

Vegapunk had escaped.

Charlotte sighed, a hint of frustration flashing across his face.

"Why..." he muttered under his breath. "Fine. He's gone, then. But I've already gained enough here."

Charlotte sheathed the Seven Star Sword and glanced at the documents strewn across the laboratory.

"Is it true that you can clone humans, as described in these files?" he asked, holding up one of the documents.

The scientists exchanged nervous glances before one of them spoke up.

"My lord, we're only Vegapunk's assistants. The core technology for cloning is not shared with us. We don't have access to it," the lead scientist admitted.

Charlotte sighed again, his expression briefly sour. "I figured as much."

He placed the document back on the table and turned to the group of scientists.

"From now on, you work for me. Is that clear?"

The scientists didn't dare argue. Though they remained silent, their reluctant expressions showed they understood their situation.

Charlotte nodded, satisfied. "Let's go. We can't stay here any longer. The Navy and World Government will surely respond soon."

As Charlotte led the group out of the lab, his crew members made way for him.

Despite the success of capturing several scientists and gathering a wealth of research documents, Charlotte couldn't help but feel a tinge of disappointment.

His original goal had been Vegapunk, and while the scientists and documents he'd obtained were valuable, they weren't a true substitute.

Still, the haul wasn't insignificant. He now had Caesar Clown, an expert in artificial Devil Fruits, and Vinsmoke Judge, a specialist in bloodline factors. Together, they had the potential to achieve incredible scientific breakthroughs.

Among the treasures was an artificial Devil Fruit, the Mythical Zoan: Azure Dragon Form, which Charlotte had already decided to give to his eldest son, Caesar.

Charlotte's lips curled into a smirk. If Momonosuke ever wants to argue about it, let him come. We'll see if his head is harder than my Seven Star Sword.

Meanwhile, in another part of Punk Hazard, Queen, the scientist who had escaped earlier, rushed into a secluded laboratory.

"Kaido!" Queen shouted, his voice echoing off the walls.

On an experimental table lay a massive, muscular man bound in restraints. Kaido opened his piercing eyes and turned his head slightly to look at Queen.

"Queen, have you made your decision? Will you follow me?" Kaido asked, his voice calm yet commanding.

Even tied up, Kaido exuded an aura so oppressive that Queen couldn't help but sweat.

"Yes, I've made up my mind. I'll follow you, Boss Kaido!" Queen declared, his chubby body trembling slightly.

He hurried to Kaido's side, using a laser device to cut through the restraints binding him.

Kaido sat up, rolling his shoulders and stretching his arms. The ferocity in his eyes was unmistakable.

---

Kaido had been captured after the Battle of God Valley, during which he had obtained the Azure Dragon Fruit. While flying aimlessly afterward, he had been intercepted by Sengoku and Zephyr. Overwhelmed by their combined strength, Kaido was captured and sent to Punk Hazard for experimentation.

The experiments he endured were grueling, but Kaido's unyielding spirit kept him alive.

During his time in the lab, he had noticed Queen's admiration for his resilience. Kaido had used that admiration to sow the seeds of loyalty.

Now free, Kaido walked to a nearby nutrient chamber, where a man with black wings was suspended in liquid.

Kaido raised a fist, dragon scales covering his arm.

CRASH!

The glass shattered, and the liquid spilled out. A young man with a handsome yet cold face emerged, stretching his body.

Kaido looked at him with a grin. "Kid, do you want to go to sea with me? Let's turn the world upside down."

The man stared at Kaido for a moment before stepping forward.

"My name is King. I'll follow you, Boss Kaido," he said, bowing slightly.

Kaido's grin widened. "From now on, call me Big Brother!"

---

Kaido, King, and Queen left the lab and made their way to the shore. The sunlight was blinding after their time in confinement.

Standing at the water's edge, Kaido looked out at the distant horizon, his eyes burning with ambition.

"Let's form a pirate crew," Kaido said, his voice booming. "We'll be the Beast Pirates, and I'll be known as Kaido of the Beasts!"

Without waiting for a response, Kaido's body began to transform. Scales covered his skin, and his body expanded rapidly.

In moments, he had taken the form of a massive azure dragon, over a thousand meters long.

King and Queen stared in awe as their captain soared into the sky, his roar shaking the very earth beneath them.
