Chapter 165: Ship Transformation

Chapter 165: Ship Transformation

King, standing beside Kaido, didn't want to be left out. He spread his wings and transformed into a beast.

Animal-type, Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Ancient Species, Pterosaur Form.

As a member of the Lunaria tribe, King was born with the ability to control fire. When he flew, flames blazed from his wings.

Watching the two of them soaring through the sky, Queen shouted from the ground, "Brother! I can't fly!"

"Wooo-lo-lo-lo!"

Kaido laughed, shaking his enormous dragon body before reaching down to grab Queen like a mere chicken.

"Damn it! This is so uncomfortable! I need to install some kind of jet system," Queen grumbled, twisting uncomfortably in Kaido's grip.

Kaido just smiled, flapping his wings as he flew toward a distant horizon, with King following closely behind.

Charlotte sat on the deck of the Poseidon, surrounded by the forty-plus scientists kidnapped from Punk Hazard.

"I believe you all realize you're now aboard the flagship of the great Rockefeller Pirates, the Poseidon," Charlotte said, gesturing grandly toward the massive vessel.

The scientists nodded hesitantly, their nervous glances betraying their unease.

"Do you know why I brought you here? It's for this ship!" Charlotte pointed toward the massive hull beneath them.

"For such a large ship, it's far too slow. That irritates me." Charlotte's voice carried a mix of irritation and authority.

Hearing this, Vinsmoke Judge and Caesar Clown both seemed to have a moment of realization, their expressions thoughtful.

"I gathered all of you here because you're some of the smartest minds in the world. The knowledge you possess is unparalleled. I want you to help me transform this ship," Charlotte explained.

The scientists remained silent, exchanging anxious looks.

"I want a ship that doesn't rely on wind to sail," Charlotte continued. "You have six months to come up with a feasible design. If you fail, well…" Charlotte's smile was icy. "I have no use for dead weight. I'd rather feed you to the fish."

The scientists turned pale, some even trembling.

"Sir! That's impossible!" an elderly scientist protested, his voice shaking. "A ship must have a power source to navigate the seas, and wind is the only feasible option."

"I don't care," Charlotte replied, waving off the protest. "If wind doesn't work, find another way. Figure it out, and your safety will be guaranteed."

Leaning back in his chair, Charlotte tapped the armrest with one hand, exuding an air of calm menace.

The scientists were clearly struggling, but some had a glimmer of inspiration in their eyes.

"I'll arrange a laboratory for you. You have six months. If you can't solve the problem by then, you'll all meet the sea."

Charlotte stood, his commanding presence silencing any further protests.

With that, he turned and walked toward the cabin, holding the artificial Azure Dragon Fruit in his hand.

---

Back in his quarters, Charlotte placed the artificial fruit in a secure safe. He planned to give it to Caesar on his eighth birthday, deeming it the perfect gift for his eldest son.

Despite the success of the mission, Charlotte couldn't help but feel frustrated by the ship's shortcomings. The Poseidon was powerful and imposing, but its lack of speed left it vulnerable.

Charlotte decided to delay his plans to travel to the first half of the Grand Line and the Four Seas. Entering those waters would surely attract the Navy's attention, and they would send their strongest forces to intercept him.

While he had the strength to face an admiral, he knew the Navy wouldn't risk sending just one. Two admirals working together would be a challenge even for him.

To avoid unnecessary risks, Charlotte resolved to remain on Kami Island for a few more years, allowing time for the ship's transformation and the heat of his recent actions to die down.

---

In the ship's training room, Charlotte found many of his crew working out. Among them was Barrett, his shirt soaked with sweat as he lifted heavy dumbbells.

Charlotte walked over with a smile.

"Captain!" Barrett greeted, putting down his weights.

"Come on, let's spar," Charlotte invited, a spark of excitement in his eyes.

Barrett grinned, never one to refuse a challenge. He followed Charlotte to the ring, where the two of them took up their stances.

The crew quickly gathered around, eager to watch the captain spar with the nine-year-old boy who already towered at 2.4 meters tall.

Charlotte faced Barrett with a confident smirk.

"Show me what you've got, kid," Charlotte said, raising his fists.

Barrett's grin widened. "Don't hold back, Captain!"

The clash between the two began, and the crowd watched in awe, cheering for both fighters.

For Charlotte, this was more than just a sparring match—it was a test, a way to gauge Barrett's potential and ensure his crew was prepared for the challenges ahead.

The room filled with the sound of fists striking, laughter, and cheers, the spirit of the Rockefeller Pirates burning brighter than ever.
