However, Cain doesn't have much time to get entangled with small local underground groups right now.
Whenever someone stands in his way, Cain acts without mercy.
In this kind of environment, Honchkrow and Weavile thrive.
Moving through the darkness of the city, they scan back and forth for targets. Anyone who tries to stop them is quickly neutralized by Honchkrow and Weavile.
Nevertheless, Jubilife City is massive. Even if Cain searches tirelessly, it would take him a long time to find what he's looking for.
Fortunately, Cain has narrowed the search area through a meticulous sweep. The system also assists by accessing the city's pervasive network upon entering Jubilife City.
Finally, just when Cain thought he would go another night without sleep, the system reduced the search area to its minimum expression.
Jubilife TV in Jubilife City!
The target is inside Jubilife TV. Cain needs to find a way to infiltrate without being detected, which cannot be rushed.
Now that the general location of the target is determined, there's no hurry. It's time to plan carefully.
He found a discreet hotel not far from Jubilife TV and checked in.
After two sleepless nights, even Cain—a psychic—couldn't hold out any longer without rest.
Perhaps someone on Sabrina's level could, but not him.
With the system monitoring the network in real time, Cain didn't even take off his clothes; he collapsed directly onto the bed.
From midnight yesterday until now, he hadn't closed his eyes, desperate to locate the target and prevent another escape.
However, the system now had the location locked down. The target couldn't leave for a while. In fact, it seemed they had turned Jubilife TV into their base and had no plans to leave.
...
He slept until noon the next day.
The hotel room was strategically chosen. Upon opening the window, he could see the entrance to Jubilife TV, just a hundred meters away.
After a quick lunch, Cain observed the entrance for a while and soon devised a plan to infiltrate.
He left the hotel and located an ordinary employee exiting Jubilife TV. Seizing a moment when no one was watching, he dragged them into an alley.
When Cain reappeared, he was wearing the employee's clothes and had their ID badge hanging on his chest.
Based on his observations, the guards at the entrance didn't check visitors too closely. As long as the card opened the door, they wouldn't ask questions.
Although Cain could use Slowking's Teleport to get inside, he didn't know the interior layout. If he ended up teleporting onto a desk, it would be a problem.
Since the ID card was enough to gain entry, this method was safer.
With his head down, Cain swiped the card and entered Jubilife TV without issue.
The Jubilife TV building was quite large, so no one noticed his presence after he walked in.
Once inside, the system's signal intensified.
The system projected a three-dimensional map of the building into Cain's mind.
On the map, a blinking red dot marked the target he had been searching for.
According to the map, the target was on the top floor of the station.
Cain entered the spacious elevator. When he swiped the card, he found that it only granted access up to the 15th floor. The upper levels required special clearance.
With no other choice, Cain placed his hand on the elevator controls. The system manipulated the permission settings, allowing Cain to ascend to the top floor.
Unlike the lower floors, which were bustling with staff, the upper level was completely empty. Not even the lights were on, shrouding the area in an eerie silence.
The air conditioning was still running, giving the place a ghostly chill.
Cain summoned Gengar. This place was perfect for him.
Following the system's guidance, the target was at the center of the top floor, inside a large control room. It was likely the main control room housing all the central computers, accessible only to the director.
Since the lights were off, it seemed the director wasn't there.
Cain exhaled softly.
He was about to obtain the object that would solve one of his greatest problems.
However, just as he reached out to open the control room door, he heard a faint noise from inside.
Cain's expression tensed, his hand freezing in place.
He extended his psychic perception through the gap in the door.
"Everything Boss Cyrus is looking for should be here, right? This is Jubilife TV's main control room. The computer must have the data we need," said a female voice.
"Are you sure? Remember, what Boss Cyrus wants are the data on Mesprit, the guardian of Lake Verity," replied a male voice.
From outside, Cain listened intently to the exchange.
His expression darkened.
"Cyrus? Lake Verity? Mesprit? Does that mean the people inside this room are Team Galactic members? Has Team Galactic already begun its operations in Sinnoh?" Cain quickly analyzed.
Team Galactic was the largest underground organization in Sinnoh, led by Cyrus, a man obsessed with destroying the world to create a new one.
Their goal was to use Dialga and Palkia, the gods of time and space, to erase reality and merge their powers into a newly created world.
Although Cyrus somehow knew about these powers, even Cynthia, Sinnoh's guardian, was unaware of such capabilities. Cain, however, had deciphered this information thanks to the Unown's scriptures.
For now, Team Galactic was searching for the three lake spirits, and Cyrus was after Mesprit, the guardian of emotion.
The team expected the records hidden in the station's database to provide clues about sightings in Lake Verity.
Under normal circumstances, Cain wouldn't get involved. Team Galactic had nothing to do with him.
But now they were directly interfering with his mission. Their presence could prevent him from obtaining what he needed.
