Chapter 29

KARLIAH POV

Considering that I just met the princess a few hours ago, she has been the nicest person I've met so far, unlike that other maid, Kate.

It was like she was completely after me.

For a moment there, it was like she hated me.

FLASHBACK

When I came out of the garden, I bumped into someone in the halls, causing the things she was holding on the tray to fall.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I'll help you clean everything up."

The girl glared at me.

"Just leave it. It's already clear that you mess up everything that you touch."

I cocked a brow at her in surprise.

Where was this even coming from?

"Excuse me?"

She picked up the broken pieces of the teacups.

"Oh, I've heard so much about you, Karliah, right?"

"Yes, but how do you know my name?"

She smiled at me.

"It doesn't matter. By the way, I'm Kate, and I'm here to give you a friendly warning."

She took a step forward.
