KARLIAH POV
So far, everything was going well, and I ended up working at the café for three months, even though the pay wasn't that much. I managed to buy a few new clothes and shoes at the thrift stores.
The café was going to open in a few hours, and in the meantime, I decided to clean the tables and replace the old flowers with fresh ones. Just then, the door opened, and Lina walked in as she fought the cold.
"Good morning, Lina," I chirped excitedly.
"Good morning, Karliah."
Before I could ask her something, she disappeared into the kitchen without another word. That was very odd because Lina wasn't acting like her bubbly self today. It was clear that something was definitely wrong.
When the clock hit 7 a.m., I flipped the welcoming sign, which indicated that the café was now open. After that, I went to see Lina in the kitchen. She was getting started on the first batch of cupcakes.
"Lina, is something wrong?" I asked curiously.
