After breakfast, Alexander leaned back in his chair, watching Anna clear the dishes with a strange mix of amusement and curiosity. It was rare for someone to bustle around him so comfortably without feeling intimidated.
When she turned to him with a determined glint in her eyes, he already knew she was up to something.
"You have nothing to do today," Anna declared, tugging at his sleeve. "Come to the living room. We're watching cartoons."
"Cartoons?" he repeated, raising an eyebrow. "Do I look like the type of man who watches cartoons?"
"Exactly why you need it," she said, dragging him along before he could protest further.
He allowed himself to be pulled into the sitting room, settling into the couch with a long-suffering sigh as Anna excitedly flipped through the channels. She finally settled on a show, and despite his initial reluctance, he found himself relaxing in her presence.
