The office was unusually quiet for a company preparing for a major event. Alexander sat at his desk, meticulously reviewing his speech for the launch party. His brow furrowed in concentration as he made small notes in the margins of his draft. Across from him, Anna was perched on a chair, surrounded by scattered papers, her petite frame looking even smaller amidst the towering stacks of files. She was absorbed in her own task—going through guest lists and last-minute design revisions for the event.
Occasionally, Alexander's gaze flickered toward her. It was still strange to him, seeing Anna engrossed in work. He was so used to her playful nature, often watching cartoons or teasing him when she wasn't lazing around in the inner room. But tonight, she had insisted on helping.
"You sure you don't want to go rest?" he had asked earlier, concern lacing his tone.
