Anna stirred awake, her hands falling on something unexpectedly hard. Confused, she shifted slightly, realizing her pillow was far too firm. Slowly opening her eyes, she froze, her heart skipping a beat as she realized she was lying on Alexander's chest. His arm was wrapped protectively around her, his head tilted back as he slept soundly.
Mortified, Anna quickly sat up, her sudden movement rousing Alexander from his slumber. He blinked a few times, then looked at her, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
"Good morning," he said, his voice husky from sleep.
Anna's cheeks flushed. "Morning... How—how did I get here?" she stammered, glancing around to find herself in their bedroom at home.
Alexander stretched, his movements lazy and unbothered. "You fell asleep at the office. I brought you home after I finished my work," he explained casually. "You were out like a light, so I didn't want to wake you."
