ARIANA'S POV.

My hands began to tremble as I looked down at all the blood, and the devilishly dark claws that had sprouted out. I swallowed, still feeling the metallic taste of blood on my tongue, mixed with strands of hair blown into my mouth by the wind.

On my lap, the fox's body ran cold, and I tried to remember everything that happened. It had happened too fast for me to process. I'd let the vampire take over, and it had all been over in a second.

"Ari?" Sunny called lightly, and my hands flew to the tears in my clothes where the fox had ripped me. Nothing. No more running blood, stinging pangs or open gaps. Instead it was flesh.

My wounds had healed. There was no pain in my body whatsoever.

Then, panic filled me next.

I pushed the fox away, and got to my feet hastily.

"What have I done?" I asked myself, looking from my hands to the corpse, cooling on the ground. "Did I just…?"
