"The End." God smiled as he finished the story of how he 'purified' each and every dismembered parts of Kronos and proceeded to turn his soul into the Longinus, Chronos Requiem.
"So that's where you got that time ability of my Sacred Gear." I nodded my head as realization finally settles in.
No wonder God told me that possessing a Longinus would give the user the capability to kill Gods. Because the Longinus itself is a god.
"But still, did you really believed his words? What if he's just bluffing to distract you from your original goal? After all, if he's capable of seeing the future, he would've seen the day his own children overthrow him." I was skeptical by Kronos's words. It's hard to believe the words of an evil being, not to mention, someone of Kronos's stature.
"I didn't. That's why I decided to ask the Three Ancient Fates themselves."
"Three Ancient Fates?" I confusedly asked. I'm not that versed when it comes to Greek Mythologies because back in the Marvel World, many Gods including the Greeks has long abandoned Earth and doesn't meddle with humans anymore, especially after Odin's bloody conquest that turned Earth part of the Norse Pantheon's territory.
"Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. The Personifications of Fate itself. They're also the one who predicted that Kronos would be overthrown by his children and told Gaia and Uranus about it in which the two then passed it to Kronos, hence why he tried to kill them during their birth." God explained, shedding some knowledge for my clueless self.
I didn't know Greek Mythology was this deep. I thought it's just a simple story of a bunch of children with daddy issues fighting against their traumas and shit.
"So, what did the Three Ancient Fates told you?" I shifted the topic back and asked.
"They told me the same as Kronos told me except that there's a chance that the prophecy wouldn't happen." God shrugged his shoulders and said, making me wide-eyed in shock.
"So the prophecies can be broken!?" I said in shock, however God soon shook his head.
"Not exactly. Prophecies are very hard to break and no one in the entire history of the universe, did someone managed to break a prophecy. So I don't have any hopes in it." His words almost made me throw a fit, how can he be this calm and nonchalant about this? His life is on the life here! At least be concerned about yourself!
His words made me go silent.
Was breaking prophecies that hard? I mean, he's kinda right. Let's take the Ancient One as an example. According to her, she couldn't see the future beyond her death, hence she died.
Then, there's also Doctor Strange's prophecy about the final battle against Thanos.
So many prophecies happened in the Marvel Universe and the people who broke them can only be counted in one hand.
That's how hard it is to go against destiny and fate.
But still, it was the Personifications of Fates themselves who said that breaking the prophecy of God being killed by his children could be broken.
If other people says the same thing, it would sound unbelievable but we're talking about the Fates here. Their words are million times heavier than the others!
Okay. Fine, that's it. I'll be the one breaking the stupid prophecy. This is my grandpa we're talking about here, the only possible family I have in this world, though it is mainly because of Raviel, but even without that, I started to see him as family.
And you don't turn your back on family, no matter what.
Unbeknownst to me, a certain bald-headed warrior smiled and gave me a proud nod of recognition.
"It's time for preparations. I know you want to protect humans so you're gonna need every time you can get to get ready." God said before standing up, indicating the end of our conversation.
"How about you?" I asked him, I mean, he's the one who's going to die in this war and he barely got any rest. I doubt a single day is enough for someone kike him to fully recover himself, not to mention he also need to prepare the Angels.
He doesn't have the time to lay back and rest.
"I'll be fine, Chamber. In fact, if it weren't for you, I would've been in a worse state than now. So thank you." Flashing me his usual kind smile, God patted my shoulders as a farewell and was about to leave when he seemed to remember something and said.
"By the way, before I forget. That Johann kid of yours. Groom him well, he possessed one of the Longinus I created." With that, God gave me a 'ciao' salute before disappearing in a flash of light.
As for me, I can't afford to waste time, so I immediately conjured a portal to my tower and there, I found Balthazar along with my students.
From the looks of what they're doing, Balthazar is training them while a bunch of wizards were also training with their new magic rings and the magic system of the sorcerers.
Tens of wizards were standing in the front yard of the tower that was transformed and enlarged to accommodate the wizards who wanted to train.
As for why I haven't allowed them on the Sanctum Sanctorum yet, I'm just delaying for a bit as I wanted to build at least two more Sanctums before I officially open them for the rest of my forces.
And besides, I intend to finish this Great War first before everything else.
Right now, it is currently the most important event that will happen in the entire Supernatural history.
The wizards seemed to be training through battle, facing one another as they danced around the training field, sparks of eldritch magic clapping.
The old wizards, despite their age, were moving as if they're still in their teens, their spars filled with vigor.
My students on the other hand were training amongst themselves, under the tutelage of Balthazar.
Unlike the wizards who were experienced and looked like warriors as they dance on the training field, my students on the other hand, could barely knock each other out.
Belle was too much of a coward to land a proper hit on Johann.
While Tam was doing fine, Augustus kept running around as he tries to outrun Tam, turning the spar into a marathon.
Balthazar on the other hand, slapped his forehead as he shakes his head in disappointment.
It's partially my fault, I barely let them spar and their training with me consists of simply honing their magical skills and such.
This would be a problem I guess, though nothing that I can't solve.
Balthazar was the first one to notice me after recovering from a moment of embarrassment.
"Master Chamber!" His face brightened up and he quickly approached me.
Tam and the rest of my students also stopped whatever they were doing and did the same as Balthazar.
"You've been gone for 2 days! We were so worried about you!" Balthazar teared up a little as he quickly wiped them out and composed himself, to maintain a single shred of dignity before the children could see him.
Johann and the rest who just arrived, also expressed their worries for me.
"Master! Where were you?!"
"Master! Are you okay?"
"Is something wrong, master?"
"Relax, my dear students. Your teacher is just fine." I chuckled and reassured them.
"Balthzy." Then I turned my attention to Balthazar who grumbled.
"You're still calling me that?" I chuckled at such a reaction.
"Call everyone to gather up. I have an important announcement." Hearing my words, Balthazar nodded his head.
Just as I was about to enter the tower, Balthazar suddenly came up to me and called me.
"You have visitors early this morning." Balthazar then said to me before continuing.
"I let them in since they said that you know them and they mean no harm, and I can tell through magic that they're not lying."
"Who?" I confusedly asked. I don't remember encountering enough people.
"A pack of werewolves." His words made me remember who he's talking about.
"Wallace and his pack." I muttered to myself which was loud enough for Balthazar to hear.
"So you do know them. That's good. They've been waiting for you since this morning in the guest room. I told them that we don't know when you'll be back but they insisted they'll wait, even if it would take years." Balthazar shrugged his shoulders as he explained. After he finished, he rotated his finger in his temple, indicating that the werewolves have screws in their head.
He's kinda right, I guess?
"Did they say what they want?" I asked while walking towards the door of the Tower, following behind me was Balthazar, who replied to my question.
"They didn't say anything except wanting to meet you. They seem a bit desperate." As he finished his words, we're already inside the tower where two familiar figures sat on the couch.
"Wallace…" I frowned upon seeing their small number.
Where are the others, I wonder? From what I can remember, there should be around 4 to 5 of them when I last saw them.
"Sorcerer Supreme!" Wallace, along with Lupus quickly stood up and faced me with respect in their tones.
Not only that, Wallace was missing an ear and a finger.
"What happened to you two? Where's the rest of your pack?" I asked them instead of greeting them back.
"….We…." Wallace bowed his head as Lupus sniffed, on the verge of tears.
"We were wiped out. Or at least our remaining warriors. A week ago, the vampires suddenly invaded our territory and started attacking us, killing us and collecting our bodies for unknown reasons. Their numbers are too much for us to repel them. So we decided to buy time for those who can't fight to hide." After calming down, Wallace explained, with Lupus adding in a few sma details that he missed out.
In other words, the vampires, under my contract of being unable to hunt humans, shifted to hunting their rivals instead, collecting their dead bodies for reasons unknown.
"So why are you two here then? Don't tell me you want me to help your kind fight against the vampires? I don't do mercenary work." I crossed my arms and coldly said, are these werewolves seriously trying to take advantage of my kindness and the fact that I had a conflict with vampires?
"N-No! We're not here for that! W-We just want a safe place to recuperate. W-We'll do whatever you want, you can use us as long as it won't harm our kind. We can do many works!" Wallace, the ever-proud Alpha of the werewolves kneeled on the ground as he pressed his forehead on the ground, shocking both me and Lupus, even Balthazar from behind also gasped in surprise.
'What is this?'
