80. The Fort Of Kannes

My interactions with those knights had been stiff but thankfully short, and due to Eiko's words of honor, I ended up being placed in a separate place. I and Devon.

Some of the Hill-Stage Knights led Lux's men deeper into the walls of the fort and showed them quarters they could stay in.

None of those quarters were bad and could even accommodate large groups since that fort had been built with that goal in mind.

The moment I could lie on the bed within the room given to us, I almost immediately fell asleep, only to rise sometimes close to noon.

Hunger happened to be the first thing I registered, but I ignored it to step out of our quarters. The sun had risen well enough, and when I descended the spiral stairs since we had been given an elevated spot, the bustling that place did not have at night unfolded in my eyes.

Quite a lot of soldiers walked the fort's insides. Many were training while others seemed to run errands.
