Chapter 187: The Masked Man Appears

Shua!

Accompanied by a strange spatial distortion, Kirito and Obito appeared together in an eerie, empty dimension.

Countless enormous gray-white cubes floated weightlessly in the void, stretching endlessly in every direction. The two stood on one of the platforms, staring each other down.

Noticing the frost rapidly spreading across his arm, Obito violently jerked himself away from Kirito's grip, stumbling backward to create distance.

Kirito didn't pursue immediately. Instead, his Byakugan activated, carefully analyzing Obito's Kamui dimension. It was his first time here, and recording the spatial coordinates would be critical if he wanted to teleport here again in the future with Yomotsu Hirasaka.

Obito, regaining some composure, sneered. "I don't know how you figured out my ability's secret, but you've sealed your fate by following me here. In my space, you'll never defeat me."

Even though Obito was unnerved by Kirito's lack of discomfort in the Kamui dimension, he was confident. If necessary, he could abandon Kirito here and escape.

Kirito's cold voice cut through the silence. "You'll regret dragging me in here."

The moment his words fell, Kirito vanished.

Boom!

Obito barely managed to raise his arm in time to block, but the frost-covered fist shattered his frozen elbow. The impact sent shockwaves through his body, and the white halo of Kirito's chakra slammed Obito's head, launching him like a cannonball across the platform.

Rolling painfully across the smooth ground, Obito dug his fingers into the surface to stop himself. Wincing, he barely managed to lift his head as Kirito calmly approached.

Desperation flashed in Obito's lone visible eye. He pulled a black rod from his sleeve and lunged to stab Kirito's vitals, but Kirito effortlessly grabbed his wrist mid-thrust.

Thud!

Kirito's foot connected with Obito's abdomen, sending him hurtling backward. His body slammed into another massive cube, leaving a deep crater in its surface.

Obito coughed violently as he struggled to move, his mind spinning in disbelief. What's with this power? Is this Tsunade's strength… no, it's beyond that.

As Tsunade's apprentice, Obito had expected Kirito to possess some of her monstrous strength, but this was far greater than anticipated.

My arm is broken, and even the White Zetsu cells are cracking. I need to retreat and repair my body…

Obito staggered to his feet, activating Kamui to phase out. But just as the space began to distort, Kirito's figure blurred forward.

Boom!

Kirito's fist struck Obito's right eye with bone-shattering force, smashing his mask to pieces and slamming him into the cube behind him.

"ARGH!"

Obito howled in pain, clutching his bleeding face. His right eye throbbed with unbearable agony. As blood dripped between his fingers, his left eye—now revealed—glared at Kirito with a mix of rage and disbelief.

How could this happen? How could I lose… here?

With his right eye destroyed, Kamui was no longer usable. Worse still, he was now trapped in this dimension alongside Kirito, with no way to escape. The realization sent chills down his spine.

Kirito walked forward, unrelenting. Obito tried to crawl away, but his broken body refused to obey.

"Even if you kill me, the Eye of the Moon plan cannot be stopped," Obito spat, his voice ragged. "It will happen… You'll die here too, trapped in my dimension… Starve to death in silence, forgotten and alone. Hahaha!"

Kirito's gaze remained cold and unfeeling. "It doesn't matter. You'll die in agony either way."

Sizzle…

Magma gushed from Kirito's palm, bubbling furiously as it poured over Obito's broken body.

"AAAAHHHH!"

Obito's screams echoed through the dimension as the searing lava engulfed him. His limbs and torso were consumed, his remaining eye dulling as the molten heat burned through his flesh. Within moments, his form was reduced to ash.

Kirito didn't let his guard down. He knew Obito had life-saving techniques, particularly Izanagi, which allowed the user to rewrite their death at the cost of a Sharingan. The technique activated silently, giving no outward indication.

He'll come back.

With his Byakugan fully active, Kirito monitored every inch of the Kamui space, waiting for the slightest disturbance.

Outside the Kamui Dimension

As Kirito and Obito vanished, the sea of molten lava gradually cooled and solidified, leaving behind a charred, barren plain.

"What happened? Where are they?" Ay demanded, tearing apart the last of White Zetsu's restraints.

Darui, still catching his breath, answered, "The masked guy used some space-time ninjutsu. Both he and the white-eyed kid disappeared."

Once freed, Ao immediately activated his Byakugan to scan the area. "There's no trace of either of them nearby. They're completely gone."

Tsunade's brows furrowed in concern. "Is it a time-space technique like the Flying Thunder God? If so…"

She bit her lip, worry flashing across her face. She wasn't afraid Kirito would lose, but being trapped in an unknown space was another matter entirely. Some time-space jutsu transported targets to inescapable death traps.

"We can't just stand here," Onoki said gruffly. "We need to regroup and start searching for the masked man. Even if we can't locate the boy, finding the masked man will lead us to answers."

"Are you saying we should abandon him?!" Tsunade snapped, fists clenching.

"Calm down," Onoki said sternly. "I saw the battle. That masked man was no match for the boy. I have no doubt he'll hold out until we find him."

Tsunade glared at Onoki, her temper rising, but before she could respond—

"Wait!" Ao suddenly shouted, his Byakugan flaring with intensity. "The masked man! He's reappeared—right in the courtyard!"
