Facing the charging Mega Aerodactyl, Frogadier stood firm, showing no fear. Its mouth opened as it began to gather frozen energy, preparing for its next move.
Within seconds, Mega Aerodactyl was upon Frogadier. Spreading its wings wide, it used the momentum of its charge to slam its wings directly into Frogadier with a fierce [Wing Attack].
Frogadier was hit, the damage significant. But it didn't falter—instead, it grabbed onto Mega Aerodactyl, tightly holding its wings with both hands and feet. The energy in its mouth was now fully charged.
"It actually withstood that attack? There must be more to this! Mega Aerodactyl, throw it off immediately!" Brock shouted, his confidence faltering. He had expected Frogadier to dodge but now regretted using [Wing Attack].
"Quack!!"
Frogadier unleashed the frozen energy it had stockpiled, directing the [Ice Beam] at Mega Aerodactyl's wings at point-blank range. The move successfully froze both of Mega Aerodactyl's wings and part of its back.
As soon as the attack connected, Frogadier released its grip and allowed itself to be thrown away, using the momentum to create distance between itself and Mega Aerodactyl.
"Your wings are frozen now, Brock. Let's see how your Mega Aerodactyl plans to fly," Satoshi teased, his smile brimming with confidence.
"…I've been surprised too many times today," Brock sighed. "But if Mega Aerodactyl can't dodge, then I'll go all in for one final blow! Let's end this battle!"
He steadied himself and called out, "Mega Aerodactyl, this is the last round. Use all your strength—[Dragon Claw]!"
Satoshi responded immediately, "Frogadier, finish this! [Hydro Pump]!"
Both trainers issued their commands simultaneously, and their Pokémon gave their all for the decisive strike.
"Quack!!"
"Roar!!"
Frogadier and Mega Aerodactyl roared in unison, pouring every ounce of their strength into their attacks.
Mega Aerodactyl, unable to fly, ran across the ground with its frozen wings dragging behind it. Energy gathered in its remaining unfrozen wing, preparing for a devastating [Dragon Claw].
Frogadier, standing its ground, emanated an overwhelming aura as it prepared its attack. Opening its mouth wide, it unleashed a torrent of high-pressure water.
Mega Aerodactyl reached Frogadier just as it completed its [Hydro Pump]. Its charged [Dragon Claw] collided with the rushing water, and the battlefield erupted in a fierce clash of energy.
The two attacks locked in a stalemate, both Pokémon straining to overpower the other. Whoever broke through first would claim victory.
Mega Aerodactyl's [Dragon Claw] was formidable, with a base power of 90, boosted further by its [Tough Claws] ability. But Frogadier's [Hydro Pump], with a base power of 110, was even stronger. Combined with its Water typing and the boost from its Mystic Water, the move overwhelmed Mega Aerodactyl.
Frogadier's [Hydro Pump] shattered Mega Aerodactyl's [Dragon Claw], striking it directly. The powerful water stream knocked Mega Aerodactyl across the battlefield. Already injured from earlier attacks, Mega Aerodactyl succumbed to its wounds, reverting back to its normal form and collapsing, unable to continue.
The battle was over. The winner was clear.
"Ding! Frogadier gained experience and leveled up to Lv26!"
"Ding! Charmeleon gained experience and leveled up to Lv27!"
"Ding! You defeated Gym Leader Brock and earned 10,000 Alliance Coins, a [Miracle Seed], and the Skill Machine [Giga Drain]!"
"A [Miracle Seed] and [Giga Drain]? These are for Grass-type Pokémon. Looks like I'll need to catch a suitable Grass-type Pokémon soon," Satoshi mused. He was thrilled with the rewards, knowing their value. He decided to focus on catching a Grass-type Pokémon after claiming his Badge and the additional compensation Brock had promised.
"To think you even managed to defeat my Mega Aerodactyl," Brock said as he returned his fallen Pokémon to its Poké Ball. "You're the strongest rookie trainer I've ever faced as a Gym Leader. You deserve this Boulder Badge."
Brock approached Satoshi and handed him a gray badge.
"Ding! World Announcement! Congratulations, Kanto Region player 'Satoshi' for becoming the first player in the game to earn a Badge. The Badge leaderboard has been unlocked. Player 'Satoshi' is now officially the game's frontrunner!"
"Ding! World Announcement! Congratulations, player 'Satoshi,' for receiving a system reward: 50,000 Alliance Coins, the Skill Machine [Solar Beam], and a Gold Bottle Cap!"

"Satoshi, your strength far surpasses my expectations. I believe you're destined to become a top-tier Trainer," Brock said sincerely, extending his hand toward Satoshi.
"Thank you. I'll do my best to reach the top," Satoshi replied, shaking hands with Brock. It was a gesture of mutual respect.
However…
"Ahem, Satoshi," Brock said awkwardly. "Don't you think we've been shaking hands for a bit too long?"
"Don't worry, don't worry. I have a couple of things I need from you, and I'm afraid you'll run off again," Satoshi replied with a grin.
"...What do you want? Ask away," Brock said, exasperated.
"First, who told you my name?"
"...I can't reveal that yet. You'll find out in due time."
"Alright, never mind. Second, I won, so what about the two compensations you mentioned earlier?"
"..."
