Chapter 120: New Inheritance and Plan

Back in the reception hall, Ash waited for a while before Brock and Misty walked out. Misty bounced around with a bright smile on her face, looking as if she had won the challenge herself.

"Pikachu, you're amazing!" Misty said as she walked up to Ash, gently patting Pikachu on the head. Pikachu chirped in appreciation, clearly enjoying the attention.

"Let's head back to the Pokémon Center first," Ash suggested. "Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Pikachu all need to recover. After that, we can rest for the afternoon, and then we can explore the city and start tomorrow."

The three of them left the Gym and made their way back to the Pokémon Center.

"Well..." Misty hesitated. "Yesterday, because of the fire, we didn't get a chance to explore Vermilion City properly. Maybe we should take the time to check it out today?" She smiled, hoping Ash would agree. Her enthusiasm was evident—after all, their date hadn't been fully completed yesterday, and she was eager to spend more time alone with Ash.

Brock, always the keen observer, immediately understood the situation. As soon as they arrived at the Pokémon Center, he excused himself, saying he had other business to take care of, leaving Ash and Misty alone together.

Half an hour later, the three Pokémon had recovered. Ash and Misty didn't linger at the Pokémon Center; they were planning to have lunch outside. After all, they had received the task rewards for assisting with firefighting yesterday, so they didn't have much money left.

After a pleasant lunch, the two spent the afternoon exploring the city. However, nothing eventful happened today, and by the evening, they returned to the Pokémon Center to meet up with Brock.

"Shall we head directly to Saffron City tomorrow morning?" Ash asked, looking at Brock and Misty to see if they agreed. Although he was the leader of the group, he always valued their opinions.

"I think that's fine," Brock replied after a moment of thought. "According to the original plan, our next destination is indeed Saffron City. After we challenge the Saffron Gym, we can head west to Celadon City."

"How about you, Misty?" Ash asked, turning to her.

Misty looked hesitant for a moment, her fingers nervously tugging at her hair. "Well... this afternoon, I saw a poster for a beauty pageant in Lample. I was thinking it might be fun to go check it out..."

"A beauty contest?!" Brock's eyes lit up with excitement. "A beauty contest means there will be lots of beautiful ladies! Maybe I can meet one of them..." His grin became exaggerated, clearly imagining the possibilities.

"Hey! Hey!" Brock's thoughts drifted far from the present, and he began grinning like a love-struck fool. But he quickly snapped out of it, realizing that he was being overly dramatic. He looked at Ash with a serious expression.

"Ash, I think we should go to Blue Pool. I've heard about it before—it's a famous resort. We could rest there, or even let the Pokémon have some special training by the seaside!" Brock wasn't shy about using the excuse of special training to persuade Ash.

Ash and Misty stared at Brock with raised eyebrows, then exchanged looks of disdain. It was clear that Brock was using the special training excuse as a cover; he simply wanted to attend the beauty pageant in Lample.

But Ash didn't refuse; he agreed, partly out of consideration for Brock's feelings, but also because Misty seemed genuinely interested.

"Alright," Ash said after a moment's thought, "We'll go to Lample tomorrow, but we'll have to change our route a bit."

Misty's eyes lit up when she heard Ash's agreement. She eagerly added, "I already have a plan! Lample is an island, so there's a pier there. We can take a boat from the pier to Maiden Gorge, near Lavender Town. From there, we'll pass through Lavender Town and then head straight to Saffron City."

"Also, there's going to be a celebration at Maiden Gorge soon. We can participate in that as well!" Misty's excitement was palpable. It was clear she had already thought this through and had been planning this detour for a while.

Ash was silent for a moment, staring at Misty with a bit of surprise. It seemed she had already figured out their new route and had even researched a celebration at Maiden Gorge. He couldn't help but feel that Misty had planned this all along, even though she'd made it sound spontaneous earlier.

"Alright, we'll do it that way," Ash said after a moment, deciding to go with Misty's plan.

"Yay!" Misty cheered, clapping her hands. Brock was also thrilled, though for different reasons. He was already imagining meeting beautiful women at the beauty pageant in Lample.

That night, in the dormitory, Brock went to the bathroom to wash up, leaving Ash to relax on the bed. Pikachu had already curled up next to Ash's pillow and fallen asleep.

Ash stared up at the ceiling, his mind a bit unfocused, but in reality, he was reviewing his system panel. After collecting all six Pokémon the day before, Ash had earned a chance to draw a lottery. He wasn't particularly concerned about what he would win; as long as he got something useful, it would help him cover daily expenses and continue training his Pokémon.

"Lottery!" Ash called out, activating the system's drawing interface. The screen spun quickly, displaying various rewards, but Ash had grown accustomed to this process. He calmly pressed the stop button, slowing the spinning wheel.

Seconds later, the name of the prize appeared on the screen, and when Ash saw it, he sat up in shock, his eyes widening in disbelief. "Inheritance?!" he whispered under his breath, struggling to believe what he was seeing. "And it's the inheritance of one of the three legendary Pokémon?!"

Inheritance 993: The Winged Dragon of the Sun God

Using this inheritance on a Pokémon could greatly enhance its qualifications and grant it the abilities of the Sun God Winged Dragon.

Ability 1: Golden Flame Cannon

Ability 2: God Phoenix

Ash's heart raced as he processed the information. He had already drawn the inheritance of the Soaring Sky Dragon from Osiris for Pikachu, and now he had the chance to draw the inheritance of the Sun God Winged Dragon for another Pokémon. This was incredible luck!

"Could it be... that I might get all three legendary gods?" Ash thought to himself. "Will the Obelisk Giant Soldier be next?"

He shook his head in disbelief. The chances of drawing all three legendaries were slim, but Ash's luck had been surprisingly good so far.

"Calm down! Calm down!" Ash told himself, trying to collect his thoughts. It was hard to stay calm with the excitement bubbling up inside him. He knew that the inheritance had already made a significant difference for Pikachu. With the Sun God Winged Dragon's inheritance, Ash could help another Pokémon reach its full potential—perhaps even create another powerhouse like Pikachu. Maybe he could even raise a future god.

"Now... which Pokémon should receive this inheritance?" Ash muttered to himself, still unsure. He hadn't yet decided who should benefit from such a powerful gift. For now, he decided to keep the inheritance stored in the system; the time and place weren't right for any of his Pokémon to accept it.
