Scam

Roxie was taken aback.

What did these people mean? How would she have the means to stop the apocalypse and keep it away maliciously?

If she could stop the apocalypse right now, she will do so in her fastest speed.

Who wanted to continue existing in this apocalyptic world?

She observed the group again. She couldn't help but notice one little detail. The man that had invited her to join his group wasn't present. In fact, all the members of his group were absent. It was a little bit strange.

She stopped thinking about them. They were players. They might have gone somewhere else.

"You guys should stop spreading misinformation. I don't have any means to stop this apocalypse. I am just like you. We are just hoping to survive the next morning." Roxie replied.

She was willing to use calm ways to settle things if it could work. It wasn't like she was afraid of a fight. She just wanted to try the path without bloodshed first.

"Why are you lying?" The person that accused her said again, "I knew you would not want to admit it but it is alright. We will beat it out of you. Since you aren't moved by the suffering of your fellow human beings, why should we have pity on you?"

"Yes." A voice chipped in.

More voices of agreement came from the group.

Roxie readied herself.

She was thankful for the superpowers she awakened but sometimes, she wished she had gotten an offensive superpower to deal with idiots like these.

She cracked her neck in preparation. She was not going to have any pity on anyone. She had already given them the opportunity to take a step back. Anything that happens after this moment was on their heads.

Kai and Ambrose prepared for battle too.

She was thankful that most of the people in this mob was just civilians. They didn't have the battle experience she boasted off.

She would still be overwhelmed but it would not lead to an handicap for her in the battle.

Roxie rushed into the opposing group and started kicking and attacking with all her might. A few hits landed on her but she forcefully ignored it.

Roxie didn't hold back. Every attack she made was fatal. She was breaking bones and crushing skulls. She utilized every means that was available to her.

Fortunately, she was not the only one fighting this group of righteous idiots. With the addition of Kai and Ambrose, things were still bearable.

More people started to fall. A few people were dead. Once the group saw the direction this current situation was heading to, some of them started to run away. This eased up the burden on Roxie's shoulders.

The three of them finished up quickly. The only people—from the mob group—that was alive were just the ones that ran away. If it was up to Roxie, she would have liked to chase them amd kill everyone from that mob.

Alas, things didn't work the way she imagined it would. It was already a little bit of a stretch for three people to go against 15 or more people.

If those people that ran stayed, her situation would be worse.

Heavy pants came from Roxie's lips. She continued staring in the direction that the cowards ran towards.

Suddenly, footsteps walked closer to where she and her group members stood. Roxie straightened up and looked towards the source of the sound.

The footsteps belonged to a group she was slightly familiar with. It was the player that was trying to invite her to be part of his group. The rest of his minions followed him to this area.

"Wait! We are here to save you, Roxie." Theo yelled.

He said those words loudly. Because of the loudness, his words arrived before he even got to Roxie.

Roxie narrowed her eyes. She felt like something was very, very strange.

How can the timing be so perfect?

The only way Theo can appear in this coincidental timing was if he was already lurking around?

Why was he lurking around?

She didn't have a full picture of the whole story yet but she would make sure she got to the bottom of everything.

She waited for Theo and his group members to come closer. Roxie glanced at Kai and Ambrose.

Her mouth moved.

'They are suspicious. Don't pity them.' She mouthed to Kai and Ambrose.

They nodded subtly.

Roxie returned her gaze to Theo and his group once she was sure her group members got the message.

She stared at Theo with narrowed eyes.
