Chapter 403: Decent Character, Worth Befriending

Clara Knox sighed,

"It's nothing, just a little anemia."

Some things don't need to be explained in detail. The doctor did prescribe medicine to help with blood circulation, so Clara wasn't exactly lying. It was just polite chit-chat between colleagues who weren't very close.

Sophia Travers didn't press further. Her phone rang, and after a brief conversation, she hurriedly hung up,

"I can't chat with you now, it's time for my son's dressing change."

After saying that, Sophia left briskly, carrying her things.

Clara stared at her retreating figure, dazed. It was hard for her to reconcile the once glamorous jewelry designer with the present-day Sophia Travers.

Clara wandered around outside for a while before returning to the hospital room. She felt utterly bored again; the worst part was that the hospital didn't have her drawing board. Even if she wanted to kill time by sketching, she didn't have the tools.
