Moments later, they arrived at the heart of the facility, where many officers had already gathered.
"The Galactic King will personally appoint you today. Just head to the center," Jaco whispered.
Jiang Chen nodded slightly in understanding and led his group forward.
There, they beheld the Galactic King and the elite members of the Galactic Patrol. However, Jiang Chen felt a twinge of disappointment at not seeing Merus.
He wondered if Merus was out on a mission.
Jiang Chen contemplated asking but decided to wait.
After all, he recalled that Merus and Jaco seemed quite familiar, so he could inquire later.
As they approached,
"Wow, what a huge octopus!" Sun Goku exclaimed, his eyes sparkling as he stepped forward to poke at the Galactic King.
"Hey, hey, don't be so casual!" Jaco interjected hastily.
"I'm not an octopus!" The Galactic King's forehead twitched in irritation.
"Not an octopus? Then why do you have so many tentacles?" Sun Goku pressed, still curious.
"Alright, Goku, don't be rude!" Jiang Chen sighed, rubbing his forehead.
"Oh, okay!" Sun Goku relented, stepping back reluctantly.
"Since you've all decided to join the Galactic Patrol," the Galactic King announced, his gaze sharp, "I will officially appoint you. However, misuse of your powers will result in immediate expulsion."
"Understood!"
"However, I think I'll hold off on joining for now!" Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
His intention for Raditz and the others joining was to instill a sense of justice within them.
Jiang Chen himself didn't need to become a member.
"I see!"
"Then starting today, Raditz, Celipa, Toma, Toteppo, Panbukin, Kakarot, and Nappa will be special members of the Galactic Patrol."
The Galactic King declared, making their status official.
Once the appointments were complete, the Galactic King took his leave.
"Aspara, aren't you joining?" Jaco hesitantly asked Jiang Chen.
"I still have training to complete, so I won't consider joining for the time being," Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
"I see!" Jaco felt a bit disappointed but was no longer as anxious as before.
He knew Jiang Chen was incredibly powerful.
He had single-handedly defeated Frieza's forces across multiple star systems and taken down Frieza's right-hand men, Dodoria and Zarbon, as well as Jeice and Burter from the Ginyu Force.
Compared to him, the other Saiyans were strong but they clearly paled in comparison.
"By the way, Jaco, I've heard there's a powerful elite warrior in the Galactic Patrol named Merus. I wonder if he's currently at headquarters. I'd like to consult with him." Jiang Chen's curiosity was piqued, and he shifted the topic.
"You mean Merus? He's one of the strongest warriors in our Galactic Patrol, overseeing a full 104 regions."
"But today, he's out on a mission. There's been a report of a dark energy in the western part of the North Area, and Merus is currently investigating it." Jaco's eyes sparkled with pride as he spoke.
Then, as if recalling something, he quickly added,
"A dark energy?" Jiang Chen was momentarily puzzled.
He couldn't recall any particularly malevolent entities in the Dragon Ball universe at that moment.
But, of course, this universe was vast and unpredictable.
Even if the main story had just begun, encountering unexpected events was completely normal.
"Yes, Aspara, if you're looking to spar with Merus, it might take some time." Jaco nodded.
"I understand! Thank you!" Jiang Chen nodded in gratitude.
"No need! Aspara, you're too polite!" Jaco waved off the thanks.
Jiang Chen smiled and wandered around the Galactic Patrol Headquarters for a while before finally leaving, and heading back to Earth.
With the Saiyan matters settled, it was time for him to resume his training.
As for Merus, there was no rush.
With the Saiyans now part of the Galactic Patrol and having established a connection with the organization, meeting Merus would be much easier in the future.
The spaceship departed Galactic Patrol Headquarters.
…
A month later, Jiang Chen returned to Earth.
He first sought out Kame Sennin to discuss martial arts further.
It was undeniable that Kame Sennin truly deserved the title of the strongest martial artist on Earth.
Even after another round of discussions, Jiang Chen gained significant insights.
Three months later, he ascended toward the Lookout.
He had delayed his training long enough and was eager to continue his path to self-improvement.
With the Saiyan situation under control and the Galactic Patrol connection secured, he felt more confident about the challenges ahead.
As he soared through the sky, he reflected on the trials and opportunities before him.
The universe was vast, and with each passing day, his responsibilities grew.
But he was determined to face whatever came his way, ready to protect those he cared about and uphold justice throughout the cosmos.
His journey had only just begun, and he was fully prepared to embrace it.
…
Jiang Chen soared into the sky, his thoughts racing. Achieving the power of the Saiyan God was undoubtedly his greatest safeguard.
If he could attain it before Beerus awakened then he would be practically invincible.
However, that didn't mean he could sit back and simply wait for the transformation to manifest.
It was only a contingency plan.
More importantly, Jiang Chen understood that his personal growth was the true key to strength.
Relying solely on transformations like Super Saiyan or Saiyan God was not enough— his base power had to be formidable as well.
Just like Xeno Goku from the Time Patrol, who wasn't strong merely because of Super Saiyan 4, but because his foundational battle power was already overwhelming.
That was why, upon learning that Merus was not at Galactic Patrol Headquarters, Jiang Chen immediately returned to Earth to continue his training.
Waiting around at the Galactic Patrol was a waste of time compared to the training he could undergo on Earth.
While Earth lacked the guidance of divine beings like Angels— even trainee Angels— there was still much to gain here.
As he had experienced before, even discussions with Kame Sennin (Turtle Hermit) had been enlightening.
Not to mention, Earth itself had many untapped potential training opportunities.
"Whoosh!"
His figure sliced through the air and in an instant, he crossed the sky and landed at the Lookout.
Kami Piccolo and Popo San, having sensed his arrival, quickly approached.
"Kami Sama!"
"Popo San!"
Jiang Chen greeted them with a smile as they approached.
"Aspara San, what brings you here this time?" Kami Piccolo asked with curiosity in his voice.
Over the years, his wariness toward Saiyans had faded.
"Kami Sama, I've heard the Lookout holds many miraculous places. I'd like to train here for a while. Would that be possible?" Jiang Chen stated his purpose without hesitation.
"You wish to train here?" Kami Piccolo asked with a hint of intrigue in his tone.
"Yes, if it's not too much trouble." Jiang Chen nodded.
"Of course, it's no trouble. But may I ask what kind of training you're seeking?" Kami Piccolo inquired further.
"Primarily martial arts— particularly in Ki control. Of course, if I can further enhance my base strength in the process, that would be ideal." Jiang Chen's answer was clear. Both improving his base power and refining his martial arts were crucial at this stage.
The former would determine when he could achieve the Super Saiyan transformation, while the latter would set the ultimate limit of his strength.
