Chapter 075: The Sports Festival Begins

"Don't worry, Ezaki-kun. I'm great at disguises," Toga Himiko said with a laugh.

Fortunately, in this world, where Quirks are common, all sorts of people walk the streets. Even if Toga Himiko wore a helmet, no one would find it strange.

After all, there are far weirder things out there.

After accompanying Toga Himiko for a few rounds, Ezaki Kitazawa completely regretted it. It was just like the time he went shopping with women in his old world.

She had to look at everything, finish one round, then suddenly remember something she liked earlier and go back for another round.

But seeing how happy Toga Himiko was, Ezaki gritted his teeth and went along with it.

That night, Ezaki lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. The entire afternoon felt more exhausting than training.

Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, it was already the next day.

U.A. High School!

Fireworks burst one after another above U.A., lighting up the sky.

At the school gate, reporters crowded in, one after another, going through security checks.

"The security checks are so tedious!" one female reporter complained.

"It can't be helped. U.A. was attacked by villains not long ago," a male reporter explained.

"I heard some people criticized the school for holding the Sports Festival this year, but..."

The female reporter's eyes lit up as she continued, "Controversy means higher ratings. This year's focus is on Class 1-A."

"Right. I heard Endeavor's son is in Class 1-A too. I guarantee the ratings will be through the roof," the male reporter said with a grin.

Meanwhile, past the security checkpoint...

"Ryukyu should we watch the third-year events or the first-year events?" Ryukyu's assistant asked.

"Usually, the third-year events are more exciting, but this year is different. There's someone in the first year I'm keeping an eye on," Ryukyu said calmly, crossing her arms.

"Are you talking about that Ezaki Kitazawa? It's been a while since we last saw him. I heard his class was attacked by villains at the USJ not long ago," the assistant said slowly.

"Yes, that's right. I believe he's grown a lot since then," Ryukyu said with a hint of anticipation.

"Pfft!"

The assistant couldn't help but laugh. "Ryukyu, don't get your hopes up too high. You know what they say—the higher the expectations, the greater the disappointment."

At the same time, in the 1-A Class lounge:

Ezaki Kitazawa arrived a bit late, so by the time he went to the changing room, it was already empty. After changing, he headed straight to the lounge.

"Ezaki? You took such a long leave. We thought something had happened to you," Jiro Kyoka said to Ezaki Kitazawa as he walked in.

"I heard you've been self-studying this whole time!" Kirishima Eijiro added.

"Because of what you did, Todoroki Shoto and Bakugo both followed your lead and took leave to self-study too," Kaminari Denki said with a laugh.

"Shut up, you idiot! Who's following him?" Bakugo Katsuki snapped, his temper flaring up at Kaminari's teasing.

Meanwhile, Todoroki Shoto, standing in the corner, stayed calm and quietly watched the commotion.

"Stop pretending, we all know the truth,"

Yaoyorozu Momo said, covering her mouth as she giggled.

Bakugo Katsuki sat in his seat, his face dark. But they weren't wrong. If they attended U.A. training, only half the day was dedicated to hero basics, while the other half was filled with boring classes. Rather than wasting time, it made more sense to take leave and self-study.

Of course, if they were alone, it might not have been as effective. But coincidentally, Todoroki Shoto and Bakugo Katsuki came up with a plan. To make their self-study more effective than U.A.'s training, they had to fight every day to close the gap with Ezaki Kitazawa.

What was surprising, though, was that Bakugo Katsuki actually agreed to it. And that's how they both ended up taking leave to self-study.

Just then, the door clicked open, and Iida Tenya walked in, shouting, "Everyone, are you ready? It's our turn to go on!"

At the same time, inside the stadium:

As Present Mic suddenly appeared on the screen, the audience erupted into cheers and loud applause.

"Get ready, folks! The most anticipated event of the year, the U.A. Sports Festival, is about to begin! Let's welcome Class 1-A from the Hero Course!" Present Mic announced loudly.

As soon as he finished speaking, Ezaki Kitazawa slowly walked out from a tunnel entrance. The first-year Hero Course had two classes, A and B, followed by General Studies Classes C, D, and E, then Support Course Classes F, G, and H, and finally Management Course Classes I, J, and K.

Once everyone had gathered in the center:

"Representing the athletes for the pledge, from Class 1-A, Bakugo Katsuki!" Midnight shouted from the stage.

Everyone was stunned.

"No way, Bakugo is the representative for the pledge?" Midoriya Izuku said, slightly surprised.

"Well, Bakugo Katsuki might have a short temper, but he did rank first in the entrance exam," Kaminari Denki added.

"Seems like Ezaki-kun also got first place in the recommended entrance exam. Does that not count?" Iida Tenya pondered, stroking his chin.

As soon as he finished speaking, a girl from the neighboring class sneered, "Don't get too full of yourself. It's just the hero course entrance exam. It doesn't mean much."

"Yeah, he might've gotten lucky and ranked first in the entrance exam, but this time, he probably won't be so fortunate," another girl chimed in.
