IAN'S POV
I looked at him, feeling conflicted. On the one hand, I understood what he was saying.
I knew that being an Alpha came with certain responsibilities and that I couldn't just think about myself.
"But my happiness also matters and so that is why I have made a decision that I'll not marry Louisa whether you like it or not," I said.
"You are going to marry her as long as you are my son and the new Alpha of this pack," his father said, anger evident in his voice.
"You can't force me to marry someone I don't want to marry," I said, my own anger starting to rise.
"This isn't the Middle Ages. I'm a person, not a piece of property to be traded for an alliance or to cement my position as Alpha. I will not be used as a pawn in your political games,"
My father's face darkened, and I could see the fury building within him. "This is not a game, Ian," he said, his voice low and dangerous.
