CHAPTER 18 Letter

  IAN'S POV

Without warning, he charged at me, his fists clenched and his face twisted into a mask of rage. "You're nothing but a pathetic interloper!"

His punch came fast, but I was quicker. With a swift sidestep, I evaded his strike effortlessly. "I'm not here to steal anything, Aiden. Just trying to keep the peace."

He stumbled forward, his attack missing its mark. "You don't know anything about me or what's going on!"

My voice remained steady as I responded, "I know enough to see that you're out of control right now. Maybe it's time to take a step back."

Aiden's chest heaved as he struggled to regain his balance, his anger still boiling. "You don't get it, do you? This is none of your business!"

I held my ground, unwavering in the face of his hostility. "Maybe not, but I won't stand by while you make a scene and hurt others."
