CHAPTER 31 

   

  "How the hell can the hospital lose an unconscious patient." I was so mad as I followed Gabriel out into the kitchen. He let out a sigh and placed a hand on my left shoulder. "Daisy, look, I'm sure we will get to the bottom of this," he said. 

   

  "Daisy, your phone. It's ringing." Avery pointed to my phone in my bag, which I had forgotten. My phone? Of course. I pulled it out and frowned at the unknown number on the screen. "Who is this?" I answered the phone, feeling all eyes on me. "If you ever want to see your father again, you better sign all rights to that estate over or else." and with that, the phone hung up before I could respond. My blood was boiling, and anger raged at the threatening phone call. How dare they use my father's safety as leverage to try and force me to give up the estate. I clutched the phone tightly, my heart pounding with fear and fury.
