Elena's POV.
As I sat by the window, watching the sun shine in, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Despite Derek's assurances that he would announce our relationship and get my parents's approval, I couldn't shake off the nagging feeling that things wouldn't go smoothly.
I felt like I was stuck in a rut, unable to live a normal life like everyone else. Why did my life have to be so different? I pondered, feeling frustrated.
Just then, I felt a gentle hand wrap around my waist. "Good morning," Derek whispered, nuzzling his neck against mine. I turned to face him, groaning softly.
"Good morning," I replied, my voice still laced with sleep.
"You woke up early," He mumbled as his grip on my waist tightened, and I nodded silently.
I couldn't bring myself to tell him that I hadn't slept a wink the previous night, knowing how worried he would be. I didn't want to burden him with my anxiety.
