CHAPTER 96 Drama

  Calista

I was in shock. Like, was utterly stunned to see Zane, Cedric, and Draven outside my door, shouting and yelling at each other. They're throwing sharp words, their voices a cacophony of anger and frustration.

"Calista…" Draven whispered, almost like a plea, as he stepped closer to me. His voice was hoarse, his usually cold demeanor fractured. My eyes caught the smear of blood on his lips.

Could it be that things had gotten physical before I even opened the door?

"I don't get this-" I began, but the words got stuck in my throat.

Cedric's eyes, usually playful and teasing, were dark with a seriousness I wasn't used to. "This isn't the time, Calista. We need to-"

"Need to what?" Zane cut him off, his voice low. His hands were balled into fists, his entire body coiled like a spring ready to snap. "Need to let you continue whatever this thing is with her? Like hell I'm standing by and watching that happen." He gulped as he observed me.
