Calista
The beep of the heart monitor was the first thing I registered as I drifted back to consciousness, I moved my body and they're not that bad and I don't even know how I ended up here. I blinked, trying to clear the haze from my vision. Everything was white- sterile and cold. The walls, the sheets, the light above me- it all felt too bright, too sharp. My head pounded with a dull ache, the kind that made you want to close your eyes and disappear back into sleep.
This place is the last place I would go if there's an apocalypse. I want to sleep in my bed and roll there, but at the same time, it makes me feel confused and good.
But something kept me tethered to consciousness. I forced myself to focus, to make sense of the blurs and shapes around me. Slowly, they sharpened into the familiar forms of Zane, Cedric, and Draven.
They were all here. I already know that, I just thought I was still dreaming, and sickening.
