The moment I reached the meeting point, Nathan was already waiting, eyes sharp and uncharacteristically tense. "Adam and Daniel are up to something big," he said without preamble. "They've been making moves with the suppliers, stirring the pot."
The gravity of his words hit like a punch. "Damn it," I muttered, pushing a hand through my hair. "What do they want now?"
Nathan shook his head. "Something that involves both our territories. They're trying to weaken us, and from what I've gathered, it's all coming to a head soon."
I exhaled sharply. It seemed like the more I tried to focus on the chaos Natalie kept spinning around me, the more other fires started blazing up around us. And it wasn't just my business that was affected; it was everyone I cared about.
